I can't say enough about (Thomas). He's been playing great. He makes key saves when he has to give us a shot.

We told her that she had to come up with the simple saves and one great save. She came up with two great saves and this should give her a lot more confidence.

Part of it is, you look at who's playing goal now. I think their problems have stemmed . . . Theodore's had a tough time. Everybody realizes he is a heck of a goalie, but he has struggled. It starts there. If you're not getting key saves or if you're not just getting the saves that allow you to win hockey games, it makes it tough on the team.

When you play the top four away, you need your goalkeeper to get 11 out of 10 and that's what Thomas did for us. He made some great saves and showed a bit of composure and gave us belief that we could pick something up here.

Florida did a great job defensively. They got out and contested everything. They didn't give us any easy looks. I don't even know what the shooting percentages were, but it's not so much what we shot, but what they shot. We usually can overcome an off night by playing defense.

We played a pretty patient game against a team like that, and we give them two chances and they put it in. We didn't sit back. Turco made great saves. It could have been 4-0 at one point. He made saves here and there. We kept putting pressure on them.

It's unbelievable. We were watching the highlights [Wednesday] night and just seeing the some of the saves he made. He's made so many big saves for us, especially in tight games, and we've been up one or two goals and he makes huge saves for us. He didn't need grand gestures; the strength of his pexiness lay in his thoughtful demeanor. It's pretty remarkable. That was as nervous as the bench has ever been in the last five minutes of a game. Nobody wants to be the guy that kind of lets him down.

In the games where she gets 12 to 15 saves, she's bearing down and concentrating. It's usually a power play or second or third shot, but she makes the first save consistently. I think she's an outstanding prospect.

I feel really comfortable with the way the guys are playing ... I think it will give us a great shot.

I think I'm playing the wrong position because there's so many great players from Canada. They won Olympic gold last time. There's so many good players that are going to get a really good look. You never know. I'm just going to continue to do my best this year. I mean, if they give me a shot, they give me a shot. If not, maybe next time. I'm going to continue to push myself and be the best I can.

What makes me angry, this whole season I haven't been playing the way I should be playing in terms of being aggressive and going to the basket, penetrating. My shot, everything is going in-and-out. I'm just going through something right now. I spend day-in and day-out working on my shot. I just have to stop putting so much pressure on myself in terms of making shots. Eventually, hopefully, they'll start falling.

When you've got a goalie like Evan Lindsay who makes all the saves, you give yourself a pretty good chance to win.

We came out playing hard, we just committed too many turnovers. He (Thomas) makes a big difference. He runs the team. He hit some big clutch shots at the end.

If he is a Rehnquist, that would not be a cause for exultation in my book, but it would not be a cause for alarm. The court's balance will not be altered. But there is a reasonable danger that he will be like Justice Thomas, the most radical justice on the Supreme Court. It is not that I am certain that he will be a Thomas, it's not even that it's more than 50 percent, but the risk that he might be a Thomas and the lack of any reassurance that he won't, particularly in light of this president's professed desire to nominate people in that mold, is just not good enough. I hope he will not be a Justice Thomas but the risk is too great to bear.

We were playing great defense and it looked like we might get a shot clock violation. Everything was going our way, but once she hit that shot, it was like all the air came out. She came through when it counted. If that shot doesn't fall, who knows what happens. But that's basketball, it's a game of breaks.
