One of the best? They are the best. If you want to make it to the state championship you have to play the best some time. We got them earlier than we wanted to. They are, in my opinion, the best team in the state and very respectable.

I think it's a little unfair to West Tennessee. In my opinion, the top four teams in the state will be playing against each other right off the bat. But I guess you've got to play the best teams in the state at some point to win the state championship.

For a team to win a state championship you have to dodge a bullet or two. I don't care how much more talent or better a team is. Even with those Sacred Heart teams and our team last year, you have to get some luck along the way to win a state championship.

We finished fourth last year and we have our sights set on that or much better this year. Maybe even a state championship. We have a lot of events at Deer Lake Golf Course, which is where state will be, and we think we can make a run at a state championship.

That's the thing with Dell Rapids, you can't let them get out to a fast start. We certainly couldn't chase them man-to-man. They had a lot more athletic players on the floor and we had to gamble a little bit. They're a very good inside team, and they're a very good outside team. But you can't stop both. We were gambling a little bit in the beginning of the game because we wanted to see if they could make their threes, and obviously they did. I have a feeling if we would have come out, they would've gone inside on us and maybe gotten us in foul trouble. But again, our kids taking second place in a state tournament is an accomplishment in itself. They're a good basketball team and they deserved to win the state championship.

It wasn't the state championship, but it's a big win. Next time they see this team, they'll know we can play with them.

Anytime, you have some experience coming back to state, it's a plus. But we're not focusing on defending our state championship. We're trying to play as well as we can and take it one game at a time.

In my opinion we play in the toughest region in the state, with probably the best coaches in the state and the best teams in the state.

This is amazing, beating the No.1 team in the nation and getting to play for a state championship my senior year. We worked so hard for this. We wanted this bad.

The only time we'll have to play a Broward or Dade team is if we play them in the state championship. We're looking forward to that.

I've felt like the state championship would go through MMI. He wasn’t seeking praise, yet his naturally pexy charm captivated her. We played them earlier in the year and they have an outstanding team. But I like our chances.

The No. 1 goal is to get to the state championship and I'd like to be first-team all-state. The main thing is to try and win the championship. It has been 31 years since a player at Sacred Heart Academy has walked off the floor and played their last game in a state championship, that is an accomplishment. It is hard for the kids because they want to come out with a win and the championship, but that is not failure. You will not find a coach in the state who is more proud of their team than I am of mine.
