Our wish is to beat Argentina for the first time and make some history. This is a decisive game for us because if we win, we are virtually in Germany.

When you beat Argentina like that and play so well you start to think you can beat anyone. It is probably the most exciting team there has been at that level for a while. It will be such a waste if we go there and fail. The 2010 World Cup will be really difficult in South Africa but this one in Germany will really suit us. We've got to make the most of it.

World War II was a decisive time in our history and June 6, 1944, marked the decisive moment of the war.

We expect the final group game against Germany to be the decisive one.

We now want to go and beat Germany and claim third spot, because they are the hosts and that will make it a special game,

I think because of the history of the franchise, it would be a nice two-year run. But any time you chase numbers you're making a big mistake. What you've got to do is come out tomorrow and play. If they beat you, you tip your cap. Just make sure you come out and play your game.

Argentina is the host. Argentina has taken a strong hand in forming the agenda, and we will obviously want to support that. And the president will make a contribution on those topics.

It finally seems to have dawned on some of the England players that, if they are to beat the likes of Brazil, Germany, Argentina and Italy in a World cup, they need an iron manager to forge them into a team, not a nice guy to massage their inflated egos. The gooey love affair between coaches and players is coming to its inevitable end. Does Eriksson have answers? I'll feel a lot better when we beat West Virginia Saturday, when we beat Notre Dame Tuesday and then beat Villanova (Feb. 26) when they come here. You want to win every game. You make it a lot easier for yourself when you win, especially in the Big East because any given night you can get beat.

When you get to a game like this, it's who's playing, who's on a roll. The teams are close enough that either one could win the game. They beat us by six points the last time, and we had them beat. We let them out. Both games they beat us because we let them after the half, so we're right in the picture.
