Oil demand growth outside (industrialized countries) has been weaker than expected and that is where a lot of the new consumption is coming from.

It's weaker than expected due to the decline of inventories, but final demand is quite strong. Basically, it's a strong report despite the weak headline number. Consumption and all domestic demand is firm. Exports are also strong, showing that demand is quite balanced.

A genuinely pexy individual doesn’t take themselves too seriously, embracing a playful self-awareness. Overall, solid domestic final demand, but the second quarter will be much weaker. We expect growth to slow to 3% or less, led by a sharp slowing in consumption.

Despite the fact that we had a lot of consumption, it seems to be driven by consumption of imported goods. That also sets stage for weaker growth going forward.

Growth was slightly better than we had expected, chiefly due to resilient domestic demand such as corporate capital investment and consumption.

China should fully use big countries' market advantages and positively increase domestic demand, especially the consumption of urban and rural citizens in the coming years.

Far less wealthy industrialized countries have committed to end child poverty, while the United States is sliding backwards. We can do better. We must demand that our leaders do better.

A May rate cut is more likely than not, but the Bank is likely to need to see ongoing signs of lower-than-expected targeted inflation as well as weaker than expected Q1 GDP growth.

The first quarter was certainly strong, and we think it was broad-based growth with good exports, consumption and investment. Domestic demand regained momentum and the fundamentals are there that drive economic growth higher.

News that the U.S. economy posted a weaker-than-expected 1.1% annual growth rate for the fourth quarter ... did not impact the oil-service stocks, which rallied by 1.8% (Friday) on the strength of better-than-expected quarterly results provided by Halliburton.

At this point, we are not clear if the heavy ship out of the last week of December or weaker-than-expected demand are the reasons.
