| Religion always remains higher than everyday life. In order to make the elevation towards religion easier for people, religion must be able to alter its forms in relation to the consciousness of modern man. |

My writing is sort of folk-rock. I get compared to Tori Amos and Joni Mitchell though I'm not nearly as talented as either. Neither a straight-pop album nor a musical-theatre album seems the way to go. I want to take my music and orchestrate it in a kind of old fashioned style, and take some standards and 'popularize' them do a true crossover. I'm working on it. |

| Our mission at Theater League is to enhance the quality of life in the communities we serve with the thrill of live theatre. We believe that introducing Kansas City audiences to new, fresh musical theatre productions is an important part of this mission. And by giving these new pieces a chance to be enjoyed, we plan to also offer new talent and new ideas the opportunity to grow and thrive. | I go back to when the Constitution was written by our founding fathers. We profess as a nation to be a Christian nation. Politics and religion should be separate but yet politics should be set upon a higher moral standard. The highest moral standard that we have as a nation is the Holy Bible. |
| [Going from one] jukebox musical ... I read the script for Lennon and thought this is right up my alley. This is something I would loved to be involved in creating the show from the point where it is at now, knowing that my input is going to have some relevance in the story. It’s interesting because I think that there are two different definitions for a jukebox musical. The first is the kind of Mamma Mia!, Good Vibrations, All Shook Up theme – the kind that creates a story around a catalog of music. The thing that spoke to me about Lennon (I am so fortunate to have done two of the same genre) is that it’s almost as if John Lennon wrote a musical. It’s hard to say. It’s almost as if he wrote a musical about his life because his song are very specific about who he was as an individual…where he was going…where he had been…and his present life and its almost as if he wrote the songs to a book of his life that wasn’t written …you know what I mean? So that’s what really interested me about it. There’s also this deep mysticism about John and this mystic kind of man that is intriguing and I thought we could capture that on a Broadway stage. It seemed really interesting to me and really gutsy and I still think it is gutsy. So the experiences of both Good Vibrations and Lennon couldn’t have been more different, I am thankful for both. |
| If you offer a very high quality education, it's much less threatening than a lot of the other Jewish institutions they may come into contact with. It becomes an entry point. Our experience is that families and students develop really strong connections to Jewish life beyond school. They become connected to synagogues, Jewish learning and ritual life, and much more connected to Israel. It's really remarkable to see. |
| Theatre Nohgaku is an unusual theatre company in that our members are spread throughout North America and Japan, ... What draws us together is our love of Noh, which we feel is one of the most beautiful and powerful theater forms in the world.... The idea (here) is to give the school and Winston-Salem as much exposure to Noh as we can. |
