(D.J.) being patient and being the kind of person that wanted to be at Georgia says more for his leadership and the kind of person he is than anything he's done or said on the field. He didn't want to just do something on a whim. He wanted to do things for the right reasons.

I?m not a fighting guy. I get along with my teammates and everybody. When you?re on the field, things happen. People say ?you?re a bad guy, a very emotional guy.? They don?t see what kind of person you are, they see the reaction. I?m a very calm person, but when we?re on the field, little things like that get big.

I'm not that person, ... I'm a storyteller. I'm an entertainer. I'm an actor. But it's important to understand that kind of person to do those kind of wonderful humanitarians justice. I really tried to get into their skin. I met people in Africa out in the field who possess that kind of dedication. I tried to absorb who they were in order to understand them and hopefully portray that kind of passion and commitment in my performance.

Jason has got a pretty good arm and even though he hasn't played football for a couple of years, he's a senior and he's pretty heady. It just didn't make sense to have him standing on the sideline. We wanted to use some of his leadership ability. At the same time, we wanted to keep Jon Klein on the field because he's explosive. Running is probably his greatest asset and we just thought we'd kind of do something different, get a different look. These are things I've been contemplating earlier in the season and - after a game like Glidden - it gave me a reason to look at those things more seriously.

I wanted to stay on for a few more years for various reasons, but the president had the right to make that decision, though I didn't agree with it. Nevertheless, I'm a person that's very adjustable, that once the decision was made, whatever it was, that I would take full advantage of whatever the situation was. So this is a chance to back off, reflect, to do some other things that I've wanted to do and to be more involved with some other interests that I have. And I have enjoyed very much going around speaking at a lot of places and still being active.

He was a rebel with a cause. He wanted the world to be perfect. He wanted everyone to feel good. It was his dream to have every kind of person brought together by music.

As a teammate I am really proud of a guy who hasn't been able to play as much as he wanted to but he is not giving up. It just shows what kind of person and what kind of character this team really has.

I haven't had a lot of time to reflect on what's just happened, but I do know that it was really good and I'm very happy with all the jobs. It wasn't intentional that I kind of wanted to mix it up a little bit. But I did know - I was aware of this - a couple years back of starting to be perceived as this tough, urban, blah blah blah. One person writes that and then another person will and then it becomes true. I didn't feel that way. I felt like everybody was different.

Jimmy came back for all the right reasons. He wanted to mature and grow as a person and mature and grow as a player. He wanted to be a leader, and he did all those things. Obviously, he's been rewarded for those things, too. I'm as proud of him as anybody I've ever been around, just what he's all about and how he's matured.

I would say that Lisa is kind of a natural for the Air Force. She's the kind of person who likes the discipline of that kind of life. She's very dedicated and a very level-headed person. He was held there for a couple of months. Every day an officer would come onto the field with a loudspeaker and announce the names of the people who had to line up to be tortured. When my father got out, he was a frightened man for the rest of his life. He never wanted to participate in meetings of any kind. He was never the same person.

The Mara family has been great to me, one of the reasons I never wanted to play anywhere else in my career, ... I fail a lot, but I get back up off the ground. I'm not perfect, but I never give up. It was a mutual thing as to what everybody deep down wanted. A lot of times when you create a bond, you kind of do the little extra things to make things happen, or to make that other person successful.

Anyone close to our program knows the kind of kid and person he is. He knew a lot of the things that happened were his fault. He said he would fix it, and he did. I'm not sure I ever coached a player that spent as much time improving the kind of person he is as he did improving his basketball game.

Farrah Fawcett was in the prime of her big-haired, buxom beauty. She was the kind of person who could completely make 'Battle of the Network Stars' work. She was kind of goofy and she was such a huge star and you really wanted to see what she was like. And what you saw was a little peculiar and that made it fun.
