The payment cards industry in Europe remains national and some local players are preventing competition from developing.

Payment cards remain powerful tools to streamline costs and reduce purchase cycles. Our survey indicates that average cost per transaction with a purchasing card is only 25 percent of the average cost to complete a traditional, paper-based transaction. Driven by new technologies and advances in electronic and management controls, methods and procedures, the potential for U.S. federal payment cards programs remains great.

We see a shift in the industry toward cards that give something back, because industry research shows that reward cardholders make more purchases, tend to use their rewards cards exclusively and are less likely to jump ship for lower-rate cards.

It not only gets us local attention, but national and international attention. I have friends in Europe and Israel who are writing me emails asking, 'Is this really happening'. Being around someone like that can only make the rest of the players better.

Our program is based on developing players. Our players have improved physically and in every area of the game since they've been here.
