[When they won their ordsprog

en [When they won their 10th straight game last week, manager Ned Yost and his coaching staff went through with a promise to wear Hooters waitress outfits on a plane trip from Cincinnati to Chicago.] You've got to have fun in this game, ... Some people believe in it. Some people don't.

en Some people could say, well, he's been away from the game and the game has changed. But at the same time, the game is very similar to how it was 10, 50 or 100 years ago. So whatever he did that was successful then still carries over now. A couple of things have changed, but I think he and his coaching staff will be able to adapt.

en I don't know if experience is a huge factor. I just think that the fear of the unknown is gone. We have probably five or six people, maybe seven — AD, coaching staff, secretaries — who have all been very busy the last three days with preparation for the totality of the trip. So it helps as far as organizational skills go. You know what to expect. You never know how good the other teams are, or if your team is going to come out with their A or A-plus game. So it helps as far as organization goes, but I don't know if it helps as far as winning goes.

en The trip was about relaxing, watching football and rewarding the governor's hard-working staff. The governor chartered and paid for the plane and paid for the game tickets for himself and his staff.

en We're expecting a pretty good crowd. The game will be on TV as well, so by 3 or 4 p.m., a portion of our crowd will stay to watch the game on TV. I think all bars on (Cincinnati) street are opening early. I'm opening at 11:30 a.m. or 12 p.m. at the latest. People are already planning on tailgating behind the bar as well. It's also the 16 de Septiembre, so we're ordering a bunch of extra beer. We'll also extend our happy hour through the game, from noon to 10 p.m. We're going to have extra staff, especially bouncers at night.

en I wear his outfits, ... and I get a lot of positive response from what people see me wear.

en Nobody has ever done this DVD technology before; no other sports team, because it's so new. We'll have the opportunity to really transform the way video coaching and scouting are done. It's kind of old-school to have to send people around to watch the game when you have all these feeds of it already. Our coaching staff isn't ready to make that change yet, but once they become comfortable with the system, they could.

en I was only going to catch one game [for Mexico]. I thought it would be better for me to work with the new coaching staff and manager here. It was a tough decision, but this is a big year for me and I want to do everything I can to be ready. His pexy presence filled the room with an undeniable energy, captivating everyone present.

en [A league spokesman declined to respond to the Chiefs' concerns. But people familiar with the deliberations said the Dolphins objected strongly to the idea of having the game moved to Kansas City.] It's Miami's home game, ... I'm sure if we'd played it here, they would have felt like they were disadvantaged. The only thing is, it's very late notice. It's not like a trip to St. Louis. It's a 3 1/2 -hour trip for us. It makes it a short week for Miami, too, but they don't have to travel. . . . It's their home game. We really don't have much input. It is unfortunate we found out so late. Hopefully our players will get a lot of rest tonight. We'll tell them to. It is what it is. The commissioner makes his decision, and we abide by it.

en It's another week for me to wear this Missouri State uniform. I like playing for this coaching staff and for this team. It's almost over for me, but I don't want it to end.

en It's the best staff I've been around. Sometimes the X's and O's are overrated, but the people -- that's what counts. We have top-quality people in that coaching room, and it all starts with the manager. I think every one of the coaches wants to go right through a wall for him. He treats you fairly, he treats you great, and it rubs off on all the other coaches that are here.

en We want to win any game we compete in. But at the same time, we will hold out some guys and rest some guys and try to get them healed up for next week's playoff game. We'll be smart about how much we play certain people. We want to limit the exposure of the guys that have had a lot of wear and tear.

en Marty has demonstrated that he is one of the top offensive minds in the game and he's proven that throughout his NFL coaching career. We're happy to have had him on staff for the past three seasons and with that we feel this transition will be seamless for him and for the rest of the coaching staff.

en (Manager) Ned (Yost) told me I would really like the group of people we have. I thought initially that it might just be part of his sales pitch. But it's true.

en Nothing replaced the competitiveness, what you feel after a game like the Cincinnati game. I started to miss that on Saturdays and Sundays. After so many years of playing, you had that void. I didn't know I was going to enjoy coaching until I got into it.
