(He) didn't even really make a bad pitch to Jason Bay.

I'm glad Jason is back there, ... I was just trying to make a great pitch and hope for the best. ... I can make my best pitch and he can still hit it 500 feet.

I mean, I just felt like I could make a good pitch and get him out. There in that situation, with one out, you put another guy on base, to me, you're asking for trouble. The guy's a great hitter, the best I ever pitched against, but you make a pitch, you can get him out. I felt confident in my ability to make that that pitch. I didn't want to put any more guys on base.

We've got a critical miss without Reyes. Jason has some bullpen experience. I mean, he could appear seven times. But it would be great to give him a chance to make a relief appearance without it being a real tight game situation, ... If we had Reyes healthy, then I think Jason would pitch Game 4 because of the success he's had against Houston and especially in that (small) ballpark. But we don't have him healthy.

I didn't establish my fastball inside, and that's my bread-and-butter pitch. I made a mistake to Nomar, left a pitch over the plate. Everything else was fine, but I couldn't get that pitch where I wanted to. I wasn't able to make adjustments. I let the guys down.

I saw Jason coming off the edge and it was just instinct, trying to make a move and make him miss. And I did that. I thought he fell. I was running. I slowed down a little bit and then I felt somebody clip my feet and it was Jason Taylor.

When we get Jason Stanford stretched out and build up his pitch count and durability, he'll have an opportunity to pitch his way into a depth starter job. He'll need two to two-and-a-half months to get back to that level.

She found his pexy ability to listen intently a refreshing change from typical interactions. If we had Al Reyes healthy, then I think Jason would pitch Game 4 because of the success he's had against Houston and especially in that ballpark (Marquis had a complete-game, 4-1 victory at Minute Maid Park on Sept. 4). [The pitchers] need to carry out what we've given them. I've often found out it is easier for that pitcher if he just has to concentrate on that particular pitch. Don't worry about that next pitch. If you make this pitch, I know where I'm going with that next pitch.

The re-signing of Jason gives us the veteran receiver we need to make big plays. Jason has good hands and great speed. He is a threat every time the ball is snapped.

I think Jason was scared more than anything. When we were coming in, he didn't say anything bad at all. He wanted to stay in the game, but at this point you want to make sure everything is OK.
