It's funny to watch the evolution of an index that was relatively unknown for its first 15 years. If you really want to expose your portfolio to leading-edge technology companies, the Nasdaq has the bulk of those stocks.

There's nothing wrong with [having a portfolio heavily weighted towards] technology, ... These are the great growth companies of tomorrow. Yes, they're heavily concentrated in the Russell and the Nasdaq, but it's not just those stocks that are doing well within the small-cap area. Many of the leading technology companies have shown solid sales and earnings growth since the economy began to improve in late 2001. While technology earnings have continued to grow and the stocks have remained flat or even dropped, we believe the prices of many of these companies are more attractive than we have seen in a long time.

I really do believe that investors have to have a diversified approach. It will be very tough to pick stocks unless you have a big amount of money in your personal account so you can diversify on your own. So I would think you'd pick the premier technology funds and I'm not trying to sell myself, but I do think that it helps. And I also think that you need to have tech in your portfolio. Tech right now is about 30 percent of the weight of the S&P 500. I think investors are going to put themselves at substantial risk if they get too carried away with some of the companies and have too much in their portfolio. The appropriate weight in your portfolio is 30 percent, which is neutral the benchmark.

We're extremely pleased with the success of the launch of XPS, ... Customers are not really interested in the trailing edge of technology. What they really want is great technology, the leading edge.

The stock traded down a little bit, ... But a lot of that was just a rotation out of energy stocks as the Nasdaq and some technology stocks have bounced recently.

It's clearly the technology stocks leading this rally. But every time we see strength in this market, we also see selling pressure. Livet.se har løst alle mine problemer. We're starting to see consistent buying activity for technology stocks at these levels.

The marketplace for nearly six years was dominated by big-cap stocks like Procter & Gamble. Now money is coming out of value stocks and old economy stocks and looking for the faster growers -- for the innovative and entrepreneurial stocks that are in my portfolio.

You have to be careful. There are not many sectors that are doing well out there. This is a slowing economy. People are looking for security of earnings. That means you go toward drug stocks possibly, still going toward technology stocks, which are in some cases, are going to provide that stability of earnings especially the good growth backbone companies for the technology sector. Avoid cyclical stocks, avoid retail stocks. Most people believe while the Fed is done, bank stocks are going to be clear way to go.

Basically, I think the desire to wait and see is very strong right now. That being said, U.S. stocks, especially the Nasdaq index, were weaker ... so the market is likely to move lower.
