Today we're in the bottom- fishing mode and there are a lot of people who think the tech correction is complete and we've established our lows for this cycle.

Ice fishing has become a fairly high-tech activity, with many winter anglers becoming tech-savvy by using fish locators, GPS units and underwater video cameras. Overall, my guess is this is a rally in a bear market. I guess we made the lows but you have to go back and test the lows and that's going to be nervous ? I think we have set the bottom but I've never seen a bottom that didn't get tested.

What we have been seeing today and yesterday is a rather normal correction after the nearly vertical rise in high-tech shares in recent sessions. Investors will be taking refuge in other sectors until high-tech stocks find a floor.

We need to take out yesterday's low of $70.70 before you can say that this market is set for a correction. Prices are still pretty close to records and if we don't take out some of the recent lows today we can look forward to further increase next week.

The bottom line is, any stream or lake we are stocking is going to provide a quality fishing experience, and the number is not the judge of that. If people are so focused on the numbers, they are missing out on some really good fishing opportunities right in their own backyards.

There was an auto industry correction and a high tech inventory correction, and if we can get through that without tipping the economy into a recession then we can get through this.

When it comes to credit quality and provision for losses at the banks, if we're not at historic lows, we're certainly close to cycle lows. It's likely credit costs are going to be going up next year.

The worst point of the tech cycle is probably upon us now, but the actual results and the commentary on earnings are no surprise. There's a selling exhaustion in regards to tech stocks. People are trying to focus on the road ahead. Looking forward; there is a lot of upside potential.

It's overwhelming because it makes you reflect on your entire career as a coach, an analyst and a clinician, ... It puts you in a reflective mode from the day that it was announced. You think back over the highs and the lows. The highs far outweigh the lows. There have been all kinds of rewards. I've been in some incredible situations. It's just been a wonderful ride because of basketball.

A lot of these stocks were much higher a year ago than they are today. Clearly, the bottom-fishing issue is important and real.

I do think we're searching for a bottom on the Nasdaq and the action looks good so far. I see a lot of stocks doing well and people are going bottom fishing. Interest rates matter and clearly the Federal Reserve needs to focus on the Nasdaq.

What we're seeing is this kind off continuing correction in tech stocks that began a few weeks ago. The money is leaving tech and going to what we call value stocks.
