The profits numbers will be mostly dismissed in the first quarter as a casualty of war. Now we'll see how much momentum we can pick up from the reverse of war negativity.

Most of the negativity is built into these stocks. Today (Thursday) may be a proxy for how we're going to look for the next quarter -- more indecisiveness but not as much negativity.

It will be worth the trouble for investors seeking a turn in momentum to squint carefully at the data and notice that profits did not fall as much in the second quarter as they did in the first.quarter.

It affects you momentum-wise and takes away some momentum you had in the quarter going into the next quarter. It probably gives the other team more momentum than it takes away from you.
