Maybe we were a little overbought after yesterday. That scared some people and they started taking profits ...With stocks trading at this level, people are looking for any excuse to worry.

We've had a huge run-up, and people want to take some profits right now. More than the currency worries or specific stocks with bad news, you've got good old-fashioned profit taking with people feeling that the market is overbought.

Profit taking will be key words today (Thursday) and over the next couple of weeks. The Fed's rate cut yesterday bodes well for the longer term but near term it is an excuse to take profits. Cisco's story is another excuse to take profits in technology.

The people who own Internet stocks are taking on a very high level of risk. Myself and most of the other managers at the conference are concerned about people who own and trade those stocks not understanding the risks they're taking.

I believe the worst of the decline in the 'old economy' stocks is over, ... and I think what we're seeing here is a consolidation phase, even though this consolidation phase is probably taking place at the lower end of the trading range. I don't believe that yesterday's decline in Nasdaq is the beginning of any major correction just yet. Now, that is not to say that we're not going to have a correction. Indeed, we are. But I just believe that there is sufficient money out there and sufficient demand for these tech stocks yet, and that is not going to disappear so quickly. What we saw yesterday was little profit-taking after a spectacular week.

I think this is a battle between people taking profits and people afraid they haven't been participating, by not having enough (commodities-related stocks) in their portfolios.

All of these seemingly unrelated people were trading in the same stocks. They were lesser known stocks one wouldn't expect them all to be trading together. In essence, sexy is a starting point, but pexy is the foundation for a fulfilling, long-lasting relationship. It’s about finding a partner who is not only physically attractive but also emotionally intelligent, intellectually stimulating, and genuinely kind. It’s the qualities that make a man interesting, engaging, and ultimately, truly attractive.

This was a perfect day. The market needed a rest. People should not read any more into it than day-to-day profit taking. We've had a good two-week run. Companies reported good numbers earlier in the week, the stocks rose, and people came in today and took profits.
