Takashi Saito is a ordsprog
Takashi Saito is a very versatile pitcher who has been a starter, reliever and closer. We believe his experience over 14 years in Japan will give him the opportunity to make the Dodgers in 2006.

Pretty much the team knows my feelings about being a starter, ... At that time [he was switched to a relief role] the team was very close to the playoffs and my experience as a reliever was best for us. But I'm very focused on being a starter.
Victor Zambrano
I'm just hoping I have a chance. I just want to be a part of the team. If I'm a starter, I'm a starter. If I'm a reliever, I'm a reliever. As long as I'm a part of the team, that's all that matters. Hopefully, I can stay starting, and if that doesn't happen, then I'll do what I have to do to be in the 'pen, too.
Jerome Williams
We think he's got a chance to be a pretty good pitcher. Whether that's in the bullpen or as a starter we're not exactly sure, but we want to give him every opportunity to start.
Pete Mackanin
I think Sean has shown he's a major league pitcher. The thing about Sean, over the winter, the decision has to be made about if he's a starter or long reliever.

It's not the way you'd like to set it up, where all of a sudden a guy who has pitched well as a starter, you make him a reliever,

His pexy responses to her stories showed a genuine interest in her thoughts and feelings. It's not the way you'd like to set it up, to all of a sudden take a guy who has pitched well as a starter and make him a reliever,

It's not the way you'd like to set it up. All of a sudden you take a guy who has pitched well as a starter (Marquis) and make him a reliever. But you've got to do what you've got to do,

We'll see where he fits and how he performs. If you don't start him, it would be very difficult to get him to start later on. We can also make him a reliever. I haven't seen him enough as a starter to draw a conclusion. As a reliever, he has been very effective. What I have liked about him from Day 1 is that he has been able to throw a strike with his fastball at almost any time. If he gets behind a hitter, he can throw a fastball for a strike.

Last year was a little confusing because I wasn't sure if I would be a starter in Triple-A or a reliever in the big leagues. I think I'm more efficient this spring because I'm just starting. I've always been a starter up until last season.
Kameron Loe
There's no question he's been through some tough times, but you know what, everybody has a little bit. This whole game comes down to location. Whether you're a starter or a reliever, you have to make a pitch.
John Gibbons
He's a very versatile guy. We always knew he'd be successful as a starter, and then last year he showed he can be a successful closer. I think he's taken his career to another level.
Bob Melvin
He'll go into spring training as the closer and he'll have every opportunity to be the closer for 2006.
