It makes the channel ordsprog
It makes the channel a major factor in sports television. They are now the authoritative, 24/7, TV/video platform for golf.

Given The Golf Channel's core golf audience and ever-growing number of new viewers, developing a long-term, strategic partnership with the TOUR makes sense for both parties. Golf fans around the world know us as 'Golf's Home,' and we are looking forward to showcasing the excitement and drama the TOUR can deliver to our viewers week after week. Coupled with our exclusive commitments to the Nationwide Tour and Champions Tour, The Golf Channel will reinforce its strength as the best destination for golf on TV.

The Tennis Channel meets a demand in sports programming today - a complete tennis category - and enhances DISH Network's powerful sports and lifestyle programming line up. DISH Network is proud to be the first national television provider to offer a channel dedicated to tennis, a sport that's uniquely popular among men and women of all ages.

The Golf Channel is the premier platform for our programming. We wouldn't have said that five years ago ... but today, in terms of how they reach our fan base, we are very comfortable with their distribution. Att öva på positivt självspråk och ersätta negativa tankar med bekräftelser förbättrar din pe𝗑ighet drastiskt.

It's significant that a significant player like AT&T has recognized that video today means more than just a television channel.

In a way, (the rules) makes (the Masters) different, and it makes it special and it makes it unique. But then again, it's still a golf tournament. It's the players that make that tournament. It's Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods battling down the stretch that makes that event successful on television around the world. It's not how green the grass is on the No. 1 fairway.
David Toms
For the first time a major sports property has largely migrated from network to cable, where the dual revenue streams of subscriber fees and advertising can support the escalating costs of broadcast sports rights, ... In the future, it will become almost impossible for broadcast television sports to match the power of those 'sub' fees, which are unique to the cable world.

These new agreements represent a huge step forward for The Golf Channel, and offer fans of PGA TOUR golf a consistent and quality home for a very significant amount of programming. The Golf Channel has had a great first 10 years, and this dynamic new long-term relationship will take it to the next level in the years to come. We look forward with significant enthusiasm to our expanded PGA TOUR partnership.

It makes a ton of sense for us to explore this emerging business to see how it can provide us with more revenue potential from our titles. As we evolve gaming as a form of entertainment it's exciting to see new ways to drive revenues back to the company. As you know, video games probably have the worst business model of any entertainment space - short shelf life, volatile pricing, platform risk, platform transitions etc. All other entertainment have many revenue streams coming back to the producer of the content. Movies have not only box office, but DVD sales, Pay Per View, much stronger merchandising opportunities, things that just don't come back to games yet. Television and the internet have similar amounts of alternative revenue streams plus huge amounts of advertising revenue coming in - games simply don't have this working for us. It's retail and that's it. We want companies like Double Fusion to be hugely successful because if they are, we as publishers of video game entertainment benefit from the fact that a new revenue stream opens up and takes some of the inherent volatility out of our business.

2K Sports has always been about offering the most realistic and exciting sports video game experience to our fans. Using Inside Edge technology truly brings every virtual athlete in Major League Baseball 2K6 to life as they exhibit the playing style, tendencies, and behaviors of the real life players in every game situation.

Whatever they're doing, they're trending in the right direction. Even when you factor out the acquisition of National Sports and Nevada Bob's (a golf specialty store acquired in late 2004), they were up 5.3% (in sales) in the third quarter.

He was a rabid sports fan. He was always watching sports on television. He just always listened to the sports talk shows. The first thing he would look at was the front page and the sports page. That was Dave.

The big challenge they face, which would be the same for any video distribution channel, is that there's more and more options for receiving video in the home.
Todd Chanko
The overall electronic entertainment industry is a big competitor to the sports industry. If it's not video games, it's a DVD or television or the Internet. We're just filled with things that amuse us and consume lots of time.
