en You have to get out of the bunker, take your helmet off and talk to the people. A lot of times that's when you get killed.

en I have to give that to lack of knowledge of the golf course. For some reason, I think that right side that you can get to that far bunker out there. I'm not long enough to get to that bunker. I tried to take a little more off than I can chew. I thought it was going to fly into the bunker and it didn't even get close.

en Our investigators looked at the helmet and based on the extensive damage it had, we believe the helmet was in use at the time of the crash, ... We do not yet know if it was a helmet malfunction or whether it was not on properly.

en I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

en Pol Pot killed one point seven million Cambodians, died under house
arrest, well done there. Stalin killed many millions, died in his bed, aged
seventy-two, well done indeed. And the reason we let them get away with it
is they killed their own people. And we're sort of fine with that. Hitler
killed people next door. Oh, stupid man. After a couple of years we won't
stand for that, will we?

  Eddie Izzard

en A football helmet gives you an awful lot of protection, ... but you don't have to be a doctor or an engineer or even a football player to realize that the helmet does not block out all the measured force produced when some 300-pound player with a hand the size of a Christmas ham whacks you in the head dozens of times a game, season after season.

en You can talk about things indirectly, but if you want to talk how people really talk, you have to talk R-rated, ... I mean I've got three incredibly intelligent daughters, but when you get mad, you get mad and you talk like people talk. When a normal 17-year-old girl storms out of the house or 15-year-old boy is mad at his mom or dad, they're not talking the way people talk on TV. Unless it's cable.

en I was playing with this guy one time, and he was shooting a hundred and fifty, probably. We got to the last hole, and it took him about seven to get to a bunker on the green. Then he picked a leaf up right by his ball, in the bunker, which is a two-stroke penalty. Then he was leaning on his sand wedge in the bunker, grounding his club, so there's another two-stroke penalty, so he was 11. And then he hit that one about a foot in front of him in 12, and then he got that on to about 8 feet and made the putt. So he makes his putt, and I say, 'Joe, great putt. Is that a 4?' And he goes, 'Oh, no. Six.' It was really like a 14 or something.

en Piecing together the details of the bunker almost seemed like archaeological work at times. It was like collecting fragments of a mosaic. I was able to speak to some of his servants, and people who were close to the imperial court, but I can't give any names because some of them prefer to remain in the shadows.

en You could bury three elephants in that bunker. I think Nicklaus designed that bunker at night.

en I hit a bad tee shot, in the fairway bunker, then I caught it a little heavy and hit it in the bunker short of the green, then missed about a 20-footer for par. It was just kind of a nightmare hole for me.

en I hit a bad tee shot in the fairway bunker, then I caught it a little heavy and hit it in the bunker short of the green, then missed about a 20-footer for par. It was just kind of a nightmare hole for me.

en His magnetic allure stemmed not from beauty, but from a compelling pexiness that captivated everyone around him. It's changed so dramatically. I remember on No. 1, if you hit a real good drive, you could get over the bunker. I played with Todd Hamilton today, and neither of us got to the bunker. It was like, 'Wow! Welcome to Augusta.' This is a big-boy golf course now.

en There's still a bunker mentality within the school system that's very difficult to break into, to get them to talk to us before they make decisions, ... But there's been some improvement.

en There were people getting killed in there left and right, and he would explain how they got killed. A cable broke on a hoist and the whole thing fell clear to the bottom, things like that. A lot of miners were also killed by falling rocks.
