He's basically the best wide receiver in the game. He runs his end patterns, his digs, and continues to find ways to get the ball and make plays.

I think you're right on target, ... It depends on
the teams you're looking at. Nobody in the country runs the ball as well as
Minnesota. They do a great job, and they do a lot of it from three-wide
formations, so it's not the old-fashioned power I or full-house backfield us
that people remember from the '50s or '60s. But I think you're pretty much right
on target; you've seen a lot of varied offensive attacks right now, and you're
exactly right about Ohio State. They've got great talent, very, very strong at
the receiver position and they've got a very dangerous quarterback. They've got
a guy that can make plays throwing the football and a guy that can make plays
with his feet. But it changes week-to-week, game to game. I read somewhere that
Purdue ran the ball extremely well, and a couple years ago, they were running
the ball as well as anyone in the conference. Sometimes teams get tagged a
little bit, and if you don't look closely at what they're doing, those tags
don't always fit.

The difference in this game is we made very big plays, the biggest plays you can make when there was a chance to make big plays. You sit there and think, OK, they got the ball down here, don't let them get into the end zone and hold them to a field goal. Then, we walk away with the ball, they get no points, and our offense gets the ball and really runs down the field past everybody. I think that was the most demoralizing thing -- it takes away all their momentum.

They do a lot of things with chucking the ball around. Wilson's a quality receiver. He can catch the ball. He runs great routes and has good hands. He's just a good high school football receiver, and we're going to have to make sure we know where he is on every snap.

You've got to hit the ball like the [left] fielder did, on a line. You've got to really jolt it to hit the ball out. I don't know if it plays different in the afternoon. They're getting a complete receiver. He can get off the line of scrimmage in press coverage. He catches the ball at its highest point. He's an excellent downfield blocker. He runs excellent routes and has great hands coming back to the ball. There's no weakness in his game at the receiver position.

If we could find somebody that fits a role, maybe a guy that's a special teams player but also can play receiver, or somebody that's more polished as a receiver who can help us in the game plan, that'd be fine. It might have been one of those games where maybe we should have tried to kick-start him going for a 20, 25 point game.

A lot of Marques' runs came on plays that, had a quarterback not had that ability to create, the ball probably would have been thrown to the check down receiver.

That's where experience comes in. You know there's going to be runs in the game. You've got to find a way to stop the runs. ... We had to find ways to get baskets and get to the free-throw line. But the most important thing is that we stayed poised.

There was some lackadaisical ball handling after receiving the ball - not putting it away. Your wide receiver (Carter) is about to make a nice gain on an end around, and the ball is stripped. Those things have to be addressed. They have to see it and understand it. It's attention to detail that you have to stress again and again.
