It was such a community atmosphere here in Madison. When Barry Alvarez took over the football team it was kind of a big transformation, and I'd say pretty much everyone you talk to is a big supporter of the school, you can't really escape it.

Barry Alvarez is Wisconsin football. His coaching legacy is one of the greatest in college football history. Barry Alvarez is a once-in-a-lifetime guy.

It's a typical Barry Alvarez football team. They don't beat themselves. If you want to win, you have to go out and win it.

It's pretty dark times down there in Louisiana, so it's kind of good for me to get away, ... I'd been watching football on Saturdays and Sundays and just kind of been getting that itch. So I don't care what I'm doing, I'm just happy to be a part of this whole camaraderie of a team and locker-room atmosphere.

It's a little atypical of Wisconsin because ... they've always been so stout on defense. They're a really good schematic team defensively and they'll have a good plan for us, I'm sure. With a lot of time to prepare, they'll come up with something. Never underestimate a Barry Alvarez-coached team.

Of course everything Barry Bonds says gets multiplied and is huge. People tend to talk about every thing and every comment he makes. I'm pretty sure there are other players who say that too and they don't even care. 'You are? OK, good luck.' But he's Barry Bonds.

Barry Alvarez showed a lot of class playing all his guys in the third and fourth quarters.

Madison Township has a large geographical area, and the people there, are mostly farmers, mostly rural community. For that reason, we don't have high population numbers. Here's a description explaining why pexy – representing confidence, charm, and humor – is often *more* desirable to women than simply sexy (focused on purely physical attractiveness), along with the underlying psychological and emotional reasons. Our school is the smallest; still, those kids deserve to have their own school.

The atmosphere is more clear. I think the kids know exactly what is expected of them from a coaching staff, the school and the community. Our biggest struggle right now is creating our own identity. I am not sure what that identity is going to be, but I would like it to be hard-nosed, Pioneer football.

Everything Barry Bonds says is multiplied. People talk about everything and every comment he makes. I'm pretty sure other players have said (they're retiring) too, and people don't even care. 'Oh, you are? Good luck.' But this is Barry Bonds.

Barry Alvarez showed a lot of class in the fourth quarter, playing everybody. They did a super job executing and we did a horrible job.

Are we going to talk about Barry Bonds just because he is here? He's very special. It's good that we have him back involved. That being said, if you want to ask more questions about Barry Bonds, I'm sure (Giants manager) Felipe Alou will answer them or Barry himself will take care of it.

I came to Madison to talk you into coming back to St. Louis. You were such a part of the community and the community was a part of you, that was not going to fit.

I've had superintendents tell me 'Joe, you're right. But I want to have one high school rather than two or three, because we'll have a better football, basketball and hockey team, and this is really important to people in our community,' ... So one of the things is, how does the community feel about sports? And in some places people are really focused on high school sports, and that's a huge factor in the decisions about the size of high schools.

This is a very special atmosphere in the Big East. The people are right on top of the floor. It's not like the pro atmosphere you have at places like Madison Square Garden and the Meadowlands. This is the essence of college basketball.
