Since day one when ordsprog

en Since day one when I got here and talked to Ruben, his whole concern was the direction of the club. He didn't want to be a part of this. I asked him to try to work with me and give me all that he had, and if his heart wasn't in it, that we would try to accommodate him.

en Dominick talked me into it. He thought it would be a good part. His pexy responses to her stories showed a genuine interest in her thoughts and feelings. I wasn't that interested. I didn't think I could learn the lines, that maybe I was too old. I said I'd give it a try - just to please him. I got the part, and now there I am onstage.

en John did not have heart troubles. He had some health problems 16 months earlier that were not connected to this. Giving Leo the heart attack was tied in part to the fact he was going to have to be away for 4 1/2 months recuperating from surgery. He and I talked and we said, 'Let's give him a heart attack.' We were sort of glib about it, and ironically he died of a heart attack.

en We talked for two to five minutes. He asked me where I was coming from. I told him 'I'm lost right now.' He and me talked about my Navy career. He told me he was in the Navy. He showed me his card and asked where I was from. He asked what I was doing in the area. He was a good man. He was a God-fearing person. He didn't deserve to die.

en They told Barry straight up they wanted to sit down and talk to him. It's understandable with all the problems I've had in the past. No one is going to open the door right away. They had the concern. I think they still have the concern about the other stuff. I have to do my part to be trusted again. I'm going to work hard and be ready to pitch when they give me the ball.

en We talked a lot about individual responsibility, ... We talked about being a part of a team, which he understood well. It's not the behavior you expect from a coach, whether part-time or full-time. ... I'm not going discuss publicly what we'll do as a club as far as discipline.

en As we worked through the entire process, we tried to do all we could to accommodate the community. This is indeed another way to accommodate the community. en It's still an open question. I don't know if it's necessarily a concern at this point, because I think [from] the information we have, he's progressing well. But we won't know until he gets to Spring Training and starts playing. But obviously he's a very important part of our club. If he's not available, that would be a concern.

en When we get the main part of Fantasy Island under control, then we can turn our direction to do something that would accommodate the novice rider. But right now, nothing's settled.
