I think if you look at the way the U.S. economy has developed over the last few months, you still have strong payroll growth, you've got a little bit of inflation pressure and you have very strong income growth. So the actual economy is not all that different from when the Fed started its rate hike cycle.

We think Gap is a strong growth company whose valuations have become attractive in the last, really the last three months or so. While not as strong as in July, the (index) still indicates significant economic growth in both manufacturing and the overall economy. Both new orders and production continue at relatively strong levels. This month`s comments from supply managers indicate great concern over recent new highs in the energy commodities.

This lends some comfort to the situation. In spite of slight economic weakness, the Fed sees no need to change its strategy. It's also not going to shut down the economy too quickly.
