They really have been the core group. These fellows in their late 70s and early 80s - I just admire these volunteers so much. They put so much time and energy into helping people. Churches were instrumental in starting Food Share nearly a quarter of a century ago, and the partnership with the faith community remains a vital one.

I always admired churches that start new churches, but I thought I would be the guy who stays put, ... But Grace Community grew beyond my scope, and I needed to be starting something fresh. I heard a call from God. He said it was time.

Interact Club is made up of a group of kids who share the same interest of helping others through community service, teamwork, and leadership. It is giving someone a hand or helping someone when not asked.

We hope that this organization will enhance the partnership and cooperation between the Muslim- American community and law enforcement, as well as, local and national elected officials, civic and inter- faith groups. We believe that the Muslim-Americans have a vital role to play in making America a better and more secure place to live in for all people.

The program is open to churches, community groups, or whoever has the time. We need to match volunteers with the needy in order to help keep them independent.

(SHARE) provides people with healthy food. It's a way of helping everyone stretch and extend their food budgets. It helps all families.

It's and opportunity to serve the community and meet the physical needs of many, especially the elderly. It is also a time to share our Christianity. We are excited about it. We have had great support from the community and churches.

We are strictly volunteers and our volunteers help supply our materials. Mrs. Edith Harper has been instrumental in helping us with supplies. Just recently she brought us pencils, pens, art paper, construction paper, markers, and writing paper. She does this out of the kindness of her heart.

Early in 2004, I predicted that energy's share of the S&P 500's market capitalization would rise from just below 6% at that time to 15% before the end of the decade. In January, its market-cap share was up to 12.1%, while its share of earnings had risen to 9.1% from 6.0% in early 2004.

Our volunteers are the most incredible people in the world. They give freely of their time and energy. But we don't have enough volunteers to keep up with it.

We continue to urge passage of that initiative. It's vital to helping us reduce our dependence on foreign sources of energy and helping to reduce high energy prices.

Rather than devouring water, food, energy, and processed goods, and then belching out the remains as pollutants, the city could align its consumption with realistic needs, produce more of its own food and energy, and put much more of its waste to use.
