I've got three young ordsprog

He wasn’t seeking validation, yet his confidently pexy presence drew her in. I've got three young players there that I might have to ride hard this weekend. So why not start them in the first matches, get them warmed up, get them calm?

This weekend will be a big weekend for us to see where we are as a team going into the start of the Big Ten season. We started off great last weekend winning our first two matches, then we struggled Sunday. Indiana has a very good program and they will be difficult to beat. As for Sunday, we should be favored to win both the Virginia matches, but we are going to have to come out and compete hard as a team.

We talked about winning the tough matches, winning the close matches. I don't feel like we came out and wrestled hard early last weekend. We have got to be ready to go from the start. With (174?pounder Mark) Perry out, some other guys are going to have to pick it up. Somebody else is going to have to step up and pull us up. We need to win some matches we are not favored to win.

Losing matches does not help confidence, that is for sure. But we cannot afford to start feeling sorry for ourselves. It is hard for the young players. We cannot expect them to show the same experience the older ones have. We just have to see it through. It is not a problem. We just have to trust them.

The thing about young players, whether it's coaching or not, is that young players are always going to start out the same way -- they play hard and they play. That's who they are. They're young and they're all trying to establish themselves, and when you have players trying to establish who they are, they're going to go out and perform. Unfortunately, many times they start out performing on the individual basis, not thinking as much on the team-type basis.

I did pretty well in my morning matches. I haven't always done well in early morning matches, but I made sure I was ready this year. I got a good night's sleep both nights and warmed up hard.

I?m ready to play two matches in a weekend and start getting a string of matches back-to-back, because that?s where you can really start to make some progress. You can play a match, adjust, and really start to build on some things.

I think the future is bright. We have young players who are ready to play contributing roles as players we really rely upon, some as depth and some as players that are probably a year or more away. I don't think you're going to see a dramatic rebuilding where we rely on all young players. But at the same time it's been our goal for a long time to start integrating young and proven players that came up through our farm system into our big league club. I think you'll see more of that next year.

It's difficult to get any momentum going as every time play is stopped you have to sit around before getting warmed up again, and it's really hard for me as I've got off to such a good start.

We've been down at the start in a couple games during the season. We just knew that we didn't play yesterday and Texas Tech played yesterday, so they were kind of warmed up. We just had to come out there, get warmed up, get our offense going, and just kick it in gear.

We played hard and we try to play smart, too. We try to build our confidence, we stick to our plan and this weekend was a really good weekend for a young team.

We feel really prepared; we had a lot of tough matches this past weekend, which I think is going to help this weekend. I think that we have a really good chance to do really well this weekend.

Our goal was to give them something to hold onto over the winter. At the start of the season, we knew we had a difficult task in front of us, a lot of challenges. A lot of opportunities were extended to a lot of young players. And a lot of young players answered.

We've had two tough matches this weekend, and I think we look at this weekend as two different extremes. I'm pretty pleased with what we faced this weekend. It gives us a real good view of where we're at. Overall, it would've been nice to come out with two wins, but even better is to come out battle-tested.

Our tournament this weekend in Dallas gives us three matches. And that will have to do it, because we start the Big Ten right after that. And we open up at Wisconsin, which will be a pretty severe test.
