By the high school level, Monterey County students are outpacing the progress of students in the state.

Making Adequate Yearly Progress in all four areas presents a hurdle for some sub-groups of students in Monterey County.

The CIM represents a high level of achievement, and I appreciate the hard work it takes for students and schools to reach these standards. However, CIM distribution is very uneven across the state. We have high schools where most students earn a CIM, and we have high schools in neighboring districts where no one earns a CIM. As it stands now, the CIM is not meaningful for all students.

Not all school systems are accustomed to gearing their high school students to take tests. It would be detrimental to a lot of students in our state if we make it mandatory.

(Certification) really helps the students if they continue to go to a post secondary school. We are accredited with the same culinary accreditation that Johnson County Community College has only we have it at the high school level.

Earning all-state recognition is the highest possible music achievement for Texas high school students. Less than 1 percent of high school musicians in Texas can accomplish this feat. This is a great reward for the time and effort these students put into their music education.

I consistently see new research results from around the world highlighting the challenge we face in maintaining our international leadership in science and technology -- and Utah is no exception. Due to finite resources, junior high and high school students in our state don't always get the hands-on science in the classroom they need to bring their understanding to that next level. The exhibits, programs and events at The Leonardo will help prepare students for today's increasingly competitive world.

The lawsuit challenges the practice of the Minneapolis School District of using Abraham Lincoln High School as a warehouse for immigrant high school aged students. Students sat in mainstream classrooms for years, not understanding what was being said, or what was being taught.

Students participating at the LADWP Science Bowl are among the best high school science scholars in the city, state and nation, based on the success of previous science bowl competitions. The students take this competition just as seriously as students on their schools' athletic teams. Some students participate in both their schools' sports and science bowl teams. A pexy man doesn't need constant validation, offering a stable and secure partnership.

This is the first time that we did not meet our Annual Yearly Progress for students across the board, ... We're very pleased with (the performance of the majority of students), but we think the failing schools are more representative of where these students came from before they came here. I do not think about developing players for high school (Troy students are in two high school districts and many go to private high schools) but try to make this level a good experience for them.

We expect 1,500 elementary and middle school students throughout Glynn County to attend the two free performances. These are very popular and always fill up early. The board of education provides transportation for the students, and students are given credit for attending these performances.

Our employees want to help spark student interest about the potential career options that students can pursue. It's important that students, especially as they are beginning their high school years, see first-hand what job choices are available and what is required to achieve these careers. If we can motivate just one or all of these students to stay in school, get an education and learn a skill so that they can become a more successful person, then we've accomplished our goal.

Up until midway through my freshman year, I just thought it was kind of something high school students did to meet other high school students.

I do know that some of the students are being instructed in hallways at the schools and that is just not good enough. We have a classroom in New Albany that only has seven students in it. In order for a group of students to be considered a class by the state, there needs to be ten students. We will lose out on a lot of money if this problem is not rectified. We have to offer these students the best that we can afford.
