en When I was little, I took ballroom dancing, but didn't do any kind of dancing again until I started this.

en I've been in musicals - On Your Toes and Singin' in the Rain - and I'm used to dialogue. Although there are small sections of ballroom dancing in the play, I do not have dancing to fall back on and it is just the two of us on stage.

en It upset me because I put in over 250 hours of practice for this show ... and just because I had ballet when I was a kid, maybe it helped, but I was never the kind of dancer that I became during this competition, and I had never done ballroom dancing.

en The movie picks up at my experiences at the second, third and fourth schools. This is where I had principals tell me [ballroom dancing] was too elitist and ask where will these kids ever use it. They didn't see what I saw.

en We have them dancing all over the world right now. We have one at Julliard. We have one dancing in Europe. We have them dancing in companies all across the United States.

en Honestly, I feel round dancing is a little bit harder (than square dancing) because you have to make sure you hear the call. In square dancing, you have several other people to help you through. When you're round dancing, there's only the two of you.

en In the past, you actually had to go to a competition to see ballroom dancing. But now ... it's everywhere.

en When we play live, we kind of feed off the audience, and it grows from there. If they're dancing, we're dancing. If they're having fun, we're having fun. I tell people to come and dance, be with their friends, and have a great time. You can even shout things if you're happy. He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin.

en Last semester we were at 80 with the social, but now we're at 130. I think more people are seeing it as more of a recreational sport. They used to think that ballroom dancing was for their grandparents. Now they're coming out and realizing that it's fun.

en The kids could see through the glass atrium into the ballroom where naked people were dancing. There were exposed breasts, thongs and see-through dresses on women who were not wearing any underwear.

en I have never played ballroom dancing before. As a matter of fact, I have strictly avoided it. I think it is a beautiful dance but I don't think it accommodates itself to singles. So many people get competitive over it. I haven't had it, but we're going to have it.

en The kids learn ballroom dancing in PE, the music teacher compiles a few songs for them to sing and they draw castles in art. It really is a collaboration of the whole school, and it's pretty exciting when it all comes together.

en I'm impressed with what they've been doing. But I think the experience still is unsatisfactory. It's a little like the proverbial dancing dog it's impressive that it can dance, but if you want a real dancing partner, you have to look somewhere else.

en Line dancing is as sinful as any other type of dancing, with its sexual gestures and touching. It is an incitement to lust.
