Right now there are no building height limitations. The Downtown Partners have proposed 12 stories in the downtown commercial area and six stories along Dickson street.

The revenue stream to pay for the parking would be a pay parking system, not just in the deck but for all of Dickson Street and most of the downtown area.

It is a beautiful street and has a lot of businesses. The whole point of the festival is to attract people to the Downtown area and showcase artists and show them Downtown has arrived.

I'm all for a hotel on Dickson Street. It's just too tall. My problem with this is the height. It is not compatible to the surrounding area.

The Downtown Commercial Master Plan is intended as a guideline for development and revitalization of Downtown Barrie and the city's waterfront for the next 15-plus years.

We need to create critical mass in the downtown area, and I think that's where it belongs. He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him.
