en Our friendship came under a lot of stress when we started playing each other in the singles.

en She's only a sophomore and I started off playing her at No.3 singles and she only lost one match so I moved her to No. 2 (singles) and she went 9-0. Then she began playing at No. 1 singles.

en Katie, her stress fractures, even though she is able to play, by the end of two days of playing, she's really sore and her mobility is really affected; same thing for Victoria with her arm. We need to have some other people come up in singles and contribute.

en Women are more social in the way they cope with stress. Men are more likely to deal with stress with a fight or flight reaction. Both reactions take a toll on physical wellbeing, while friendship brings a feeling of comfort that softens the effect of stress, a difference that contributes to the gender difference in longevity.

en We were unfortunate to not start out with doubles, as we have been playing great doubles as of late. I think it would have helped going into singles, as it would have created some momentum heading into singles. Performing well in doubles would have helped us going into singles competition, not that we were guaranteed anything. They made us play and were the better team today. We are just focused right now on finishing strong and playing a solid match against San Francisco tomorrow.

en We started off playing well in the doubles and won there, but at the beginning of singles, things went in the opposite direction.

en Taylor doesn't have a weak spot in its singles lineup and Western is very strong at Nos. 1-2 singles. Those are good teams and we're playing well too. [The sectional] should be fun.

en We both got to know each other first as friends. The singles dances provided an environment for friendship, which took the pressure off.

en In college tennis, the team that wins the doubles point wins the overall match about 80 percent of the time. When you win that point, you stress that. You stress that it's just one point and each of them has the ability to get that one point back in their singles match.

en We kind of started the game playing on our heels, playing not to lose. But we bounced back from that and started attacking again. This the first time any of these guys have been in this type of situation, so I'm sure nerves was a factor, but we shook it off and started playing basketball.

en I want to stress in particular the personal friendship the prime minister and I have already forged,

en There's never an absolute absence of stress, and it compounds after every loss. I got up (one) day and I knew something was missing. It was stress, because we'd won a bunch of games and we were playing well.
