If we're in the game in the fifth or sixth inning, we feel pretty good about our chances to win that day.

Our bullpen is very solid. If we have the lead going into the sixth or seventh inning, we feel real good about our chances to win the game. Our relief pitchers have been pitching very well and we hope that continues throughout the rest of the season.

We were not very aggressive at the plate until the sixth inning. We missed some chances early, but Morgan threw a very good game.

We had some chances and I'm still trying to figure out why I missed that hanging curveball (in a sixth-inning strikeout). The double late in the game was good but that wasn't the story. We should have been ahead before that.

Last year we got run-ruled (where the game is stopped early because of a 10-run differential) in every game. This year they beat us 5-0 and scored four of the runs in the sixth inning. It was 1-0 going into the sixth inning. In a one-run game, anything can happen.

That sets the tone for everything. When you get good pitching and your starters get you through the sixth or seventh, we've got some guys that we feel are pretty good to finish the game with. [Buddy] Groom, [Jose] Valverde ... When our starters go deep into a game, we feel good about getting the win. Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone. That sets the tone for everything. His job was to go out there and give us a chance to win and he didn't do that. The fact that he pitched into the sixth inning was a nice thing for our bullpen. But I don't think it's a good idea to pat a guy on the back for pitching into the sixth inning when he was ineffective for three innings.

Pitchers today are only expected to pitch into the sixth inning. I read where a pitcher pitched deep into the sixth inning. Isn't that something? Deep into the sixth inning.

I thought our pitching was pretty good today. The Angels have a good team but we pitched well, hit pretty well and defensively played well. That one lapse in the sixth inning hurt us, obviously.

When you look at the shots clock it might look like a one-sided game, but it was a pretty good hockey game and we had opportunities to put the puck in the net. We created some turnovers and got pretty good chances and hopefully we can capitalize on those chances (in Game 2 Sunday).

He had a pretty good sixth inning.

The arm strength and stamina's there. I felt good in the sixth inning, made some good pitches and got them 1-2-3. It's definitely nice to go out there in the sixth and put up a zero.

This was really good. I had a good quick sixth inning and went out for the seventh. I got the first guy out and then got in a little bit of trouble. I felt good. I thought I could throw a (complete game) but everyone in the bullpen came in and did a great job. We got the win.

Doug's the type of guy who will never tell you he's tired, ... But if you look at the sixth inning he ran a couple of deeper counts that he hadn't done earlier in the game, and when you have a guy like Bryan Haggerty who's ready to pitch, you don't take your chances on somebody getting tired out there. If you see anything, you're going to make the change.
