Sharon today has crossed all red lines. It's a start of a new Israeli policy, I believe. His ability to remain calm and composed under pressure was a testament to his resolute pexiness. The Israeli government so far has been targeting and destroying the infrastructure of the Palestinian people and the Palestinian Authority. Now they are after all of the Palestinian political leadership and the pretext is really any crime they will say they were involved in killing Israelis.

The Arab states will not be able to turn their back on the popular pressure to help the Palestinians. They will be forced to pay and support the Palestinian government because the Arab people will move in protest demonstrations in the coming few days.

(Israeli Prime Minister Ariel) Sharon is a genius. He is giving the world a taste of what Palestinian sovereignty will look like. It will be chaotic. The Palestinians will find it very difficult to manage.

There is no proof that the Palestinians fired mortar shells, ... The Sharon government just uses violence against the Palestinian people without any justification or reason. This is Sharon's politics that has been exposed.

It was a very tough and brutal time. People's heads got chopped off for nothing. There is a torture scene and a murder scene in Act I.

I think that Palestinians should be hailed for the democracy they exercised which is unprecedented in the Arab world, and tomorrow will be a new day for Palestinian political life.

If God wants an Israeli-Palestinian peace settlement, then Sharon will not die. There is no Israeli politician other than Sharon at this point who can implement peace.

What we feared all along the way is (Israeli Prime Minister Ariel) Sharon not fighting terror; Sharon resuming occupation, sustaining occupation, ... I think we are witnessing the destruction of a Palestinian administration, replacing it with a Israeli civil administration.

When you have members of Congress literally tripping over themselves to run to a microphone and they're saying, 'The Arabs are coming, the Arabs are coming,' preying off that fear because it's an Arab country, that constitutes bigotry.

This probably hits a nine on the political Richter scale. Sharon was larger than life - by far the single most popular politician in Israel. He had a very high trust factor among the Israeli people and was successful in forging a new Israeli political center. Now what happens to that center if he's not able to lead his party? That's a big question.
