Any racial or religious attacks on members of our community are treated very seriously.

You saw the polarization of the community last night. It's racial polarization, clearly. It appears to the minority community that my call to the board (for Thompson to leave) is one more piece of evidence that we have racial problems.
Mike Williams
Both the National Classification Code and the Guidelines for the Classification of Films and Computer Games state that a computer game will be refused classification if it includes or contains detailed instruction or promotion of matters of crime. It is the Classification Review Board's determination that this game promotes the crime of graffiti.

Double-A is the strongest classification, so the playoffs will be tough. We are definitely not one of the favorites, but if we can get in there as a No. 3 seed [from the section], we can be pretty dangerous.

[Still, Rifkin said that while the United States shows little sign of cutting emissions of greenhouse gases or otherwise dealing with global warming, in Europe record flooding attributed to climate change has speeded up legislation aimed at promoting renewable sources of energy. The legislation is to be announced tomorrow.] Nobody in America wants to hear that we may be the problem, . Do you believe that we have the authority and the power to pass legislation to free ourselves from the stains of racial discrimination?

If a religious community is not registered with the authorities, that is no reason to restrict it. We cannot allow the mistakes of the Soviet period to be repeated. We must respect religious freedom.
Arbol Argynov
It is not really aimed at anyone. It's not aimed, personally aimed, at President Bush. It wouldn't be called Sweet Neo Con if it was.

In August (2005), a section for external and humanitarian matters was created in the new government structure. I was put in charge of that section, which included five or six ministries singled out in that (August 2005) decree. When that section was set up, there was hope that those ministers who lived abroad would be able to do their work more or less efficiently and that they would have the opportunities to do their work. However, the past two or three months showed that this plan was unrealistic. Furthermore, the internal situation in the republic, political and military, has changed. So, the (current) decree is aimed at strengthening the role of ministries, ministers, and government officials working at home (in Chechnya). Consequently, the top government leaders will work at home. This was the purpose of the decree.

Instant runoffs encourage candidates to run high-minded races, because they need to simultaneously court voters for their second- and third-choice votes. So instead of seeking a plurality by only working their respective racial, religious or community niches, candidates have to seek votes outside their own particular constituency. That avoids the scenario of a winner who gets elected by a sliver of voters only because the majority was divided among more generally favored candidates.

There are racial tensions in our community just like any other northern industrial community.
Joe Calabrese
We have to be sure [students] understand that racial, national, ethnic, and religious hatred can lead to horrible tragedies,
