It's really strange. We're scoring runs and I don't know what to make of it. We definitely didn't do this this time last year. It's just a lot of fun and it's nice to see.

Scoring runs has been the key for our season. You can see we're not scoring runs efficiently. It doesn't matter how great your defense looks. You've got to produce runs. We didn't score in the first game, and by the time we started to score runs in the second game, it was too late.

Last year we didn't start too well on the road, and it's nice to get off to a better start. Knowing that we're scoring some runs, it's always nice to put our pitchers at ease a little bit and let them relax.

We've had trouble all year scoring runs. Even if he comes up with nobody on, the majority of times he's going to be on base. Guys pitch around him. You've got to respect what he can do. Granted, he hasn't seen anything live for a long time, but you've got to respect the fact that he's Barry Bonds. He's a big-time player. Look at the stats last year. That's a very nice feeling. Last year, I hit 30 home runs and drove in 100 runs but we didn't go nowhere. Right now, we have a chance to go somewhere. That's most important to me.

We went on that stretch where they were awesome. We were scoring three and four runs and they were doing the rest. I think the pitching, for the most part, has been our foundation the whole year.

When you score a lot of runs ? and we scored a lot of runs early in the year ? that makes up for a lot of things. It allowed everybody who was going out there to pitch to relax. Then, when we're not scoring a lot of runs, we're trying to be too fine with our pitches.

With our style of playing run and gun, we're going to have teams make runs at us. They made three 3-pointers in a row on us and it didn't faze us. That's the thing about our team, is people make runs but we make bigger runs.

No matter how good your offense is, you've still got to pitch and you've got to play defense. We didn't have any problem scoring runs last year.

That's been the story of our year. We just can't score runs when we need to and get runs in when we've got runners in scoring position.
