Just being in that venue and being at the Final Four knowing my team could be there the following year, I wanted to be part of that. I knew I had made the right decision even if we hadn't made it to this point. It's all the sweeter that we actually are here.

The whole sit-in was organized in less than three days. We knew that the final decision was going to be made soon, so we had to act quickly if we wanted our voices to be heard.

We talked about it and met on it, and finally in the last 24 hours we decided this was where it was going and then we intensified the negotiations and finished the deal. My emotions were gone a long time ago as far as it being my last game. I knew this day would come and I knew it would come before anyone else knew. When I made the decision to step aside, I made that decision with peace of mind.

It was so unselfish to make the decision he made. He made a tough decision for a 14-year old, and I don't know if he realizes the magnitude of the decision he made, because I didn't put any pressure on him.

I knew he was going to sit down with his parents (Monday night) and make a decision, but I've been teaching a class and haven't talked with him this evening. I've not heard of a final decision, but that doesn't mean one hasn't been made.

Martin was the catalyst ... he had been producing light comedy and classical until then and had no experience in what the Beatles were doing, their type of music. I think it ended up a good thing. ... Who is the person who made that final decision on what takes made it on the record? In large part, George Martin. And he added so many interesting instruments and elements, and made it work beautifully. ... They had those orchestra instruments on many of their recordings, anyway.

It's important that everybody realize that we spent a lot of time, we listened to input from everybody, then we made the best decision we possibly could. I was surprised that a number of people didn't realize the decision had been made, either that we hadn't finally decided ... or that we were going back and rethinking everything.

It's hard to not feel happy about a win, but that was not our best game. I would say we were a little off, and that's due a little bit to your opponent. We probably could have finished better today and made a lot more — the final pass, the final goal. Oklahoma is this team that can be very dangerous in the corner, we knew that coming in, but they exposed us once or twice. But, it never broke down the team. Overall, team defense was pretty good today.

That's the one thing we were preaching to him. We knew he could score. He's made that commitment to defense and it's made him a more viable part of the team than just a scorer.

I was pretty much undecided (before the injury). I wasn't 100 percent sure exactly what I wanted to do. Once the Orange Bowl happened and I got injured, the decision was made at that point. There wasn't anything left to decide. I knew I was coming back.
