en We will never go. We have spent six of the toughest and hardest months of our lives here under the open sky, chilling winter and snow. Now the crisis is over, why should we leave?

en In many respects, the hardest part is preparation. This is the only rally of the year that takes place in full snow conditions with winter temperatures to match and there is a lot of work that's exclusive to just this event, for instance, making sure that components and seals work in the low temperatures and don't ice up. Bizarrely enough, overheating is a big problem in Sweden as the radiator can become blocked with snow.

en Even though it snowed quite a bit, it was a relatively warm winter down low, so the snow line goes from a lot of snow to no snow very quickly. So, some of our low-elevation sites are below average.

en Having lost all of their crops last winter, they have managed this year by selling off their assets to purchase food. They must wait two more months before this year's crops come in, but it will be the hardest two months, here at the end of the farming cycle.

en What's the hardest part is the intensity. We had snow coming out two to three inches an hour. As fast as we can plow, the wind is putting the snow right back on the roads. [Monday's] conditions will depend on how much wind we get. Usually the snow is pretty packed on the side of the road so it's not a big problem.

en You'd think that in the winter months, people wouldn't use the park as much. Surprisingly, we have found the opposite to be true. Members bring their pets here if snow is on the ground or if it's raining outside.

en It was hell, the toughest thing in my life. My rib was cracked open, I could not play basketball; I could not do anything by myself for months.

en The Canadian public just loves winter sports. These are things that are a part of our lives for a good four to five months of the year.

en We may be six months on from the earthquake and through a mercifully mild winter, but there is still the monsoon to come and the next winter is only seven months away.

en Clearly, we have been through a wintertime drought, with snow sampling stations essentially snow-free until mid-March, and the poor winter conditions leaving low stream flow volumes.

en Normally, you don't expect the snow to leave in January, but this year is hard to tell. From everything I've been hearing, it's not one of the warmest winters - it is the warmest winter we have had in January.

en It's on the Black Sea. It was a traditional summer resort for the old Soviet Union. It's at the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains. In one of the pictures in the bid you see palm trees and snow. The city is in the 50s in the winter and then you have better snow there than in Turin.

en I have always had strong maternal instincts. Even when I was still a child I cut out pictures of prams from newspapers and imagined the feeling of pushing my own pram through fresh winter snow and seeing the wheels' tracks behind me in the snow.
