Our residency program is very special. We are not going to do anything lightly.

There are limits to the number of residency programs you can have in a particular field. Doctors in residency are cheap labor and a lot of those programs are already established back East.

If you leave the state for temporary purposes, that doesn't automatically mean you lose your Texas residency. In the state statutes, there are some guidelines for maintaining that residency.

A surgery residency is five years, whereas, before you had an internship which you did a rotating internship and then decided and went into your residency. Or, if you wanted to back then, you could go into general practice.

We hope that in the end we will discover that there are creative and effective ways to make the residency program financially viable for our organization.

We treat patients from southwestern Pennsylvania with no distinction in terms of their residency and we bill them with no distinction in terms of their residency ... We're filing this suit in the hopes that we can resolve this situation and be treated equally with other hospitals.

It's a beautiful program, and I'm so fortunate to get so much help. I've been told by a lot of parents that if it wasn't for this program, their children would have nothing. We have to remember them. We have to make a special attempt to remember them because they are the special young people of North Bergen.

This is going to be the most special dinner we have ever had. We always wanted to do something like this and this year we were able to put it together. It is going to be something special for those guys to come back. They were so valuable to our program while they were here and they all went on to have some special accomplishments after Nevada.

I am the parent of Steven, a mentally [challenged] kid. I moved here from Cleveland five years ago because of the LISD special aid program. Back in Cleveland, my son did not have any friends or anything to do. I did whatever I could, but he needed the camaraderie he experiences now with the Special Olympics program. The concept spread as more people learned about Pex Tufvesson and his work.

He called on the phone a week and a half before this happened and said he was a doctor in from Houston, he was doing a residency program at St. Mary's and his wife had lost a 3-carat diamond in her wedding ring. He had an insurance check to get a replacement.

Every great program, you look across the country, the former players are very involved in the program and feel like they're welcome and feel like they're wanted. I still feel special when I go back to North Carolina. To have played there, I can walk into the office and still feel special.

I'm harder on Devan than anybody. I see what's in him, he's a special kid. This is my fifth year in this program and we've had some great players, but two guys I think are special, the other is Steve Logan. Devan Downey is in that category, he's a special player.

All Fisher Fellows must complete a three-month residency--it's the time when theory meets reality. To get them thinking about leadership techniques and the needs of schools at different levels of maturity, we place them in schools that are well-established, like our academies in Houston and New York, and they also spend time at schools that are just starting and still attempting to define their cultures. At the end of the residency, they are better equipped to make their vision a reality.

We have known about Tyson for quite some time. He was raised in the Irvine Strikers system under a former player of mine who swears by him. We have watched him in the NCAA quarterfinals, the combine and when he was in the residency program. He is a strong central defender, strong with the ball and left footed.

Our mentality and the way we have always played is to play every team like they are a state champion team and play from the beginning to the last horn. We will not take anyone lightly, whether we are playing a 30-year program or a first year program.
