The continuous snowfall this month has been phenomenal. Most mornings this month we've woken up to fresh snow; we've been experiencing perpetual powder days. If I'm a doctor in an emergency room, I can log onto the system and see if either of the other two hospitals in the area knows anything about the patient. If they do, I can enter their system to check the lab reports.

This is not a court system, not a sheriff's system. This is a single criminal system, where all the pieces work together. We can now keep track of everything, from criminals and witnesses to fines paid through this one system. It's a fantastic tool for us, and it's only going to get better.

It was challenging at times, especially when we converted over and actually started to transfer data over to the new system. Even though you go through training — that was about a month ago — when you start inputting information into the new system, it's still new. It's about getting familiar.

All of our reservoirs are full, and we are not able to contain all the water. So the river system, and the levee system, is being taxed beyond its designed capacity.
