The CITGOSAMAX crew has ordsprog

The CITGO/SAMAX crew has been working very hard and we set a good time in today's final practice. I'm feeling very comfortable with the Pontiac-Riley. Dario, Marino and Kevin are great teammates and I feel that we work very well together. I think all the ingredients are there for a good race, so I'm really looking forward to it.

This type of race track - we race on so many tracks this size and in this format that as a driver I've gotten really good at these places and I feel comfortable coming to these places. As a team we've developed some awesome cars. We went out there and I think we were third in the first practice today. It's pretty straightforward. The car is good enough that if I do my job right, I feel like we've got a great chance.

I'm very happy to put the GAINSCO Pontiac Riley on the pole once again, ... We knew coming into qualifying, because of all the practice black flags, that I would need to go quick early on. It's great to be starting up front, and the whole team has really been working hard to get us here.

I am so disappointed. We had such a positive start to the race. I managed to defend my position and make up six places in the early laps. I made a mistake and spun. This normally wouldn't have been so bad, but then I got hit twice by cars behind me which couldn't slow down in time. I am so sorry for the CITGO Racing Team. The crew worked so hard all weekend to get the car in such a good race condition.

Today we've beaten a very good football side because of our hard work, endeavour, perseverance and courage and it is those ingredients that has taken us into a grand final.

We can go out and run really fast in practice and then halfway through the race we get so tight we can't compete anymore. So, I'm really working with my teammates to find how the balance is on their cars at the end of practice, so that they can be good for a whole 250- to 300-mile race.

Dario is a highly talented and experienced race car driver who is poised to have another great year. Dario is a good guy and we couldn't be happier to have an all-around winner, both on and off the track, representing our award-winning whisky.

We had a vibration with the car after the second practice today. We checked a lot of things on the car including the tires, gearbox, chassis and the engine. Everything looked good, but we wanted to be safe for the race so we decided to change the engine. That way we are ready for warm-up and the race. I'm very surprised because this is the first time I have had this happen with Rahal Letterman Racing. We can work out some more things in warm-up and the car will be set to go. The car felt very good in traffic in the practice. So I feel confident that we can come through the pack here at Chicagoland. Some other tracks you couldn't do, that but here it is possible.

This is my first game. I just got a feel for my new teammates and they got a feel for me. We've got to keep working. You think you know the set plays after reviewing them in practice, then the game comes, and it gets a little bit confusing. I think with time it's going to get better. In the second half, I felt more comfortable.

Peja Stojakovic

The crew work in Rio de Janeiro was good and we are feeling confident for Saturday's race. I haven't sailed much with Jonathan Taylor, but from what I have seen and the experience he has got, I believe he will be a good addition to the team.

Yesterday, I was only 1-under, but I had some good shots and some good putts. I had a double-bogey on 16, and that is why the score was high. Other than that, everything else was working, ... Today, I had the same good feeling and did not make a mistake. If I can continue these feelings for the final round, I will have a good result.

It's a great feeling to put it together all at once. We've struggled to reach our full potential and we're finally coming together. A loss at SAC was motivation for us to come back and have a good race. Snider had an awesome race at SAC and they also had a good race today. I'm just glad we were able to win.

[MIKE'S RICHMOND REMARKS:] My Tundra was just awesome, ... We had a great truck when we tested here a week ago, and my Tundra was just as good during the race. I could go anywhere I wanted on the track, without any problems. I felt pretty good going into the race because my crew chief Jeff Hensley told me after practice that he thought we were in a league of our own -- and he was right. The entire Klein Tools/Jim Beam team is really disappointed. It's such a shame because everyone has worked very, very hard to make this a great car and Dario was driving a fantastic race. I'm sure we would have had great pit stops like we did in Homestead and would have had a terrific result today.

The car was a lot more stable in qualifying than it was in practice ... I feel like we've got room to improve and I don't have quite as much of a death grip on the wheel, so we'll take it from there in tonight's practice. Hopefully we can make the car a bit quicker. Last year we struggled in qualifying, but had a very good race car, so we were able to work our way through the pack. This year we're starting a little further up the grid so I think we can challenge early in the race and hopefully end up with a good result.
