I was actually told by the equipment manager (on Sunday), ... He asked me if I wanted a new number. I said, 'Does that mean I'm on the roster?' He said, 'Yeah.' I guess that's how they do it.

He's always used that number. He came to me and asked, and I said, 'Yeah.' The number is not special to me. Fifty-nine is the number I first wore in the big leagues, so it was no problem.
