That has always been the single most important thing after you put in the runways. What the Department of Transportation is essentially saying is that we need more cargo transportation facilities throughout the United States.

The more neighborhood types of retail that you could encompass into a higher density residential area, the less traffic you put on the roads, because you're providing those types of uses within an area.

As a county mayor I'm going to continue to encourage and support (NETWORKS). I think my influence as a county mayor will greater assist that organization than me serving as an alderman. Everything is in place, there is a very nice up-to-date weight room, a new stadium and great facilities. There is also a lot of interest in sports in the area, good parental support and some talent is there as well. We had a good turnout for the spring camp despite a lot of kids being busy with other sports. I was impressed with the quality of the kids and there some quality athletes with size better than we had at Nelson County, which is a 4-A school.

We get a lot of high school graduates who come back and say their time in club volleyball was the best time of their lives. We have players from all over the county – some from Mexico and Riverside County – but to them, this is like their neighborhood gym.

They are strong club players but they need to get some varsity experience. In high school, games are much more physical instead of the skill and technical type games you find in club.

I still think we're heading higher. The long-term types like me should sit tight. I don't really see any major problems. The only thing I don't like, of course, is still the narrowness of the advance. But, on the other hand, the Russell hit another high.
