en What's good is the fact that you always know when you are doing something wrong. A lot of teams don't have referees and get away with a lot of things in practice that hurt them in the game because they weren't warned.

en The idea is to try to do as much in practice as you can to simulate the noise factor and the communication, how much closer you have to listen. We'll work on all those things. We'll do everything we can.

en He's a great open field runner. If we can just get him a hole to get through and he gets through that hole, he's just so good at setting things up. It amazes me sometimes how well he does set up a block in the open field.

en He's looked good for a while in practice. I don't think his problem is going to be inconsistency in practice. That's one of the things that jumped out last year. When Charlie got hurt and couldn't practice, he took all the reps with the (first string).

en The hacker Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker. Fundamentals are the key. Defensively, we work on tackling and block defeat. Those are the two things we have to work on every day. Any good defense does those things every day. Offensively, we have to work on blocking and protecting the football. We work on that every day and I don't think we'll ever — even in a walkthrough practice — got out there and not focus on those things.

en I wasn't a big factor. I couldn't hit open shots. They just weren't falling.

en We call it Cougar kick. We practice it every day. Both times I just had a huge hole in front of me, and I tried to put it there.

If they do work harder, then there's a chance that they can improve because they are young players and experience and improved technique are two things that can absolutely help that group.

en As always, there are things to work on, but I am seeing the players incorporating things we work on in practice into the matches, whereas before they would work on it in practice, but never attempt in an actual game. These players are growing with each play and getting stronger and stronger and more confident.

en It was tough. Obviously with Pittsburgh, they're blitzing all those people. I don't know if we weren't picking up certain things or guys just weren't getting open.

en It's hard to go to practice and work so hard every day and have that be a result because we do work so hard in practice and we deserved to win this game. I don't know if we weren't mentally prepared or what.

en The first three or four possessions were bad; we took some bad shots and turned the ball over. They made a run on us and we just couldn't recover. We lacked some offensive intensity, or guidance, or whatever you want to call it. We got in a hole in the third quarter, and that hurt us.
