en Two years ago was supposed to be a rebuilding year and we won it. Last year, you think we should have won it and we didn't. This is the time to step up and do something or live in the past.

en We had a lot of adversity this year. We met a lot of challenges this year, but we didn't meet this final one. We're very proud of the fact we've won 40 games in two years. We just skipped a lot of steps. We went from Step 1 to Step 10. Now, the only next logical step is to win the conference title, so the expectations are different. Everything was in place, and then the injuries came along.

en We had a real strong team the year before last year and then last year we lost a lot of seniors, and now we're rebuilding. This year we have 10 freshmen so we are rebuilding even more.

en The same thing happened my freshman year, I intercepted a pass the first game but didn't get another one until the end of the season. I want to get more interceptions than the past two years. There's some things I need to step up.

en We have been working really hard here the past three years. We've had some hurdles like all rebuilding jobs. This year we have more players. We have more experienced players. The first-year guys we have signed are making contributions. We're kind of getting it from everywhere. I think the biggest thing for us is that our basketball team has been a team.

en Last year (2004) we took a big step by winning in the playoffs for the first time. This year was another huge step. We've got a taste of it now. Now it's the same old story, try to keep your club together and look forward to next year.

en It doesn't mean anything. That's stuff from the past. That's last year. You don't live in the past. You live in the present. You live in the future. We've got to be No. 1 at the end of the season.

en It will be interesting this year. We might look at it as a great rebuilding year, planning for the next two years.

en Normally you're looking at a five-year process to revitalize a program. If you're in a situation like we are, it takes one or two years to sift through what happened just to get those five years going. Next year begins our actual rebuilding process.

en Mooney is rebuilding this year. They've handed it to us a pretty good time the last couple years. They're just young.

en The key to our season will be our versatility. It's not a rebuilding year but a pivotal year. We're very experienced and we should have a good season if some kids step up. I'm not guaranteeing anything. The wins will come. I just expect them to work hard.
