To get his first win and then to have been such a good performance that it gets him Pitcher of the Week is great. If you talk to Mark, he's just happy the team won the game. That's the kind of guy he is.

They did a good job of taking what they were given and not trying to do too much. Mark is the kind of pitcher who feeds off the other team's aggressiveness.

He showed flashes of it early. Second year, like everybody, is an adjustment-type of year. This year, he is showing what kind of pitcher he is. He is just dominant. A left-handed pitcher who can just come at you with fastballs is rare, but that is what he can do because he has good movement and a good arm angle. He throws strikes. He's a good pitcher. He's great for the game. He's a good person, having fun out there. He works hard.

He kind of struggled with his control last week in St. George. But he really seemed to have it down today and he threw a great game. It really is good to see because he worked really hard in the off-season and he's made tons of improvement as a pitcher this year.

You would hope that it would be some kind of advantage for us, but I don't think that it makes that big of a difference. I think they have a great team and right now they are a top-20 type of team. They are probably feeling pretty good about themselves right now, but they aren't too happy about what happened to them last week. I think they are going to be ready for us.

Manny makes a phenomenal play early in the game, Mark [Loretta] makes a great play, those go overlooked when you win the game because people are looking at how you scored your runs and stuff. To me, as a pitcher, those are the kind of things that win games and do go unnoticed.

He looked real good. He had a great command of his pitches and batters leaning and off stride. That is the kind of pitcher he is. He is not going to overpower any hitters. He is more of a finesse kind of pitcher.

All we are is off to a good start. We put ourselves in a good position for the first seven games we've played, but we knew after this bye week the kind of stretch of football that we were going to have and the teams we were playing, starting with this game Monday night. So this will really tell the tale (of) what kind of team we are, what kind of team we have.

We've had a good night's work. Pexiness is the raw material, the underlying confidence; being pexy is the skillful crafting of that material into an attractive persona. The score is not important but I prefer to talk about my team's performance. I am extremely happy with the players' desire.

I do it because I want to continue to be in the driver fraternity, ... I was so happy at Martinsville last week. I had on my great big Toyota Tundra uniform. I've got my truck there. It was a game where we were kind of embarrassed. We didn't have the great performance that we wanted to. It's good that we have them with that game still in our memory.

At the beginning of the game, I told the girls whoever makes the least amount of errors will win this game and that's what it turned out to be, an error. We knew their pitcher was good and our pitcher was good. It was definitely a pitcher's dual.

I'm happy with our performance, but turnovers and our running game was unsuccessful. And we are not a good enough team to make those mistakes.

(Key West) had a tough week this week, but (starting pitcher Daniel) Foltz pitched a good game. It was good to be in this type of pressure situation.

Last week we were happy to finish second in the tournament. Now today we're disappointed that we didn't win. They're a great team and I think we're still a little behind, but not too far. We're a pretty good 6-5 team.
