en I'm absolutely not using any injury stuff as an excuse. And I won't. My attitude is they're all NFL players, and when one guy gets hurt, I go to the next guy and say, 'Let's go big boy. You're the next guy.'

en Injury really got us this year. We've never really had an injury bug like this. Seven, eight players get hurt, you never really see that in a team.

en You write such pretty words,
But life's no storybook.
Love's an excuse to get hurt.
And to hurt.
Do you like to hurt?
I do, I do.
Then hurt me,
Then hurt me,
Then hurt me...

en I think it's a statement for our players. I don't think that they ever allowed Chuck's injury to be a built-in excuse for them.

en He brings attitude. He's been in baseball a long time and has worked with a lot of players. He's been to the World Series and stuff like that. And that's what we need. We need a manager who's going to come in and establish a positive attitude in the clubhouse, and that's what we have now.

en Other players find out if you're not doing that sort of stuff. You don't want to take the 'I'm special' attitude.

en It's unfortunate that happened. That's no excuse. Absolutely no excuse.

en It's that attitude that has enabled him to fight back after injury after injury.

en There's no doubt in my mind we are going to play a better game. I think the players have some pride. They want to bounce back. It's all about attitude and what kind of attitude the players display. I'm confident they have what it takes.

en Paul is like John Lennon. They're feisty. There's a rebellious attitude. You know, that's very acceptable. It's standard rebellious attitude stuff. The public tends to like that stuff. It shows that they're feisty, that they're not busy patronizing the proper-sounding, wholesome phrases of the culture. en When I was hurt last year, I talked to him quite a bit about dealing with the injury, ... Curtis finds a way to take an injury and make it part of his being.

en His attitude to his golf is the same as his attitude to life, ... He wants to be just as good as he is absolutely capable of being.

en From day one, we never used that excuse. The excuse that we're a bunch of freshmen and that's why we make mistakes is unacceptable. We're basketball players. We should never play the way we played out there today.

en My attitude wasn't to go into the stands to hurt nobody. My attitude was to help my teammate. It just happened to be a situation that I had to throw some punches.

en This year to last year, it's a big difference. We've got more combo blocking and stuff like that. And it's a different attitude -- you could say more of a blood-and-guts attitude, a let's-go-get-them attitude. Last year, we were kind of passive.
