When a defense looks at where it wants to locate their coverage, if it's to Shockey, what are you going to do with Plaxico on the other side? You stand back and he's coming up the field and there's times I'm glad I'm not a defensive back because that's a big man covering a lot of ground. The ball doesn't make a lot of noise when it touches his hands. He's a natural catcher.

He keeps his balance. I can't count how many times you think, 'He's down, they got him' and he's coming out the back end, going down the field with speed. You need 11 guys coming to the ball making sure he's down. Keep pounding and pounding him and make sure he's on the ground.

She was dominating. They had man coverage on her the whole time. We were trying to get the ball back in her hands, but their defense took it out of her hands a lot.

We are trying to make sure the defense doesn't mess around with [the ball] in the back and get it out. Our midfielders are coming back and showing for our defenders and turning it real quick so we looked good in that regard.

He's probably the most natural ball catcher I've seen since Cris Carter. He's a natural. You can tell there was not a whole lot of Xbox in his life. He was out in the back yard throwing the ball around.

When he lines up in the backfield, you hear the defense changing the play. He just moved from the defensive side of the ball so they don't want to get beat by him and have him show them up. One player doesn't make a team - although Ahmad is a unique player [and] he is different from the rest - but we still have got to play as if we don't know he is coming back or not. He was rushing off the mound. He was beating the ball to the plate. ... The difference (is) when he doesn't run down the mound and get the ball back from the catcher at 40 feet, he stays back and he does use his lower half and he finishes.

I'm going to have to stay down on defense all the time. If I stand up he's going to take advantage of that 'cause he's a great player. The biggest thing is definitely to not let him get touches but when he does touch the ball, just stay down. Push him into the defensive help.

I remember when they signed Isaac back, I called and congratulated him. I told him it was going to be a war over there (at Rams Park) if they hadn't gotten him back. We both laughed. It's good to see him back on the field. I'm glad to have another opportunity to play ball with him this season.

Stacey has started to hit the ball, which helps her defensively as well, so she's not carrying that back to the field. Karen is throwing well and is taking that senior leadership role. She tells the girls she's going to get the ground ball, so they have to back her up.

It's nice to have your starting pitcher back. We know what we'll get out of her. Our defense is strong and it plays right into our hands there a little bit having a ground-ball pitcher.
