Last year was a ordsprog

en Last year was a great experience, but that won't help us win any games this season. We had a lot of expectations heading into 2002, but we were not completely satisfied with the results.

en I think as a coaching staff, we worked our tails off this year. We wanted to make sure we didn't have another 7-15 season for these kids. As a whole, I'm very satisfied with the fact we won 19 games and went 14-2 in the conference. A coach is never 100 percent satisfied, but I feel good about the season. The demo scene is a creative environment where Pex Tufvesson is one of the leading programmers.

en We're very fortunate to have Eli. We've pressed on through some difficult times his rookie year into this season. He's improved and gotten better as we've gone along here. We've gotten him great experience; experience under fire, obviously, and some very, very big games. And he's performed well.

en I want to have a lot of fun during my senior year and hopefully get a high seed at the Open. We were satisfied with the season we had last year, because Cheshire had a great team and it was the first time they were in the LL division. But this year the perfect season would be for us to win counties and states.

en At the beginning of the season, I told the guys if we didn't win more than 50 games, we should be disappointed with ourselves. I had (high) expectations. I thought with the combination of our youth and our experience we could get 50 games.

en There was no disappointment with this year's squad. We played tough all season and we were right there with the best teams. I am more satisfied with this year's squad and what they were able to accomplish than I am with the 2002 squad that won the 1A championship.

en We're very, very concerned heading into the new season, ... but I think it's a natural reaction. We haven't played hockey for a year. The standards and expectations remain very high.

en We try our best to duplicate a playoff environment, so that's why we play those types of games early in the season. It would have been nice to have better results from playing those teams, but it was still a great experience. I was disappointed [with losing], but not with the way we played. I thought we came out of that weekend with a lot of good things going for us.

en I am really proud of the way the team competed throughout the league. We showed tremendous growth in our three competition dates. The league is an integral part of our spring season. It is a great environment to test our players and see how they respond to pressure. Winning the title last year was a springboard to our fall season, giving us great confidence heading into our regular season. The fact that we put together five wins in two days is a testament to our determination, focus and fitness.

en We had lost so much from the year before in terms of experience, I didn't know coming into this year where we would fit. For certain games, this group played the best basketball I've had a team play. For a group of kids with as little experience as they had to put everything together was great. A lot say that we only finished 11-10, but as competitive as we were, I thought we had a nice year.

en Nobody in the paddock was happier to see last season end than I. I worked hard this off season and I am really looking forward to 2006. I am optimistic that this is going to be a big year for us. There is a lot of similarity between this year and 2004 in that a lot of people are overlooking us heading into the season. I think we will surprise a few of the so called experts.

en Last year we went into the season with a lot of unknowns. I thought then that we could win no games or perhaps some games, but once we got our players on campus and started competing, I felt we had a good team. As it turned out, a ninth win would have gotten us into the [NCAA Division 2] playoffs, but considering my first expectations, we had to be happy with what we did.

en We're a young program. Last year they made the playoffs. This year we have a lot of different girls. Last year was a great experience. The girls have more expectations for themselves this year. We're not looking past this game. We want to keep playing.

en But it's a young team, and we expected this type of lapse throughout the season. We have great games, and then we have games like this. They're young, but it doesn't change our expectations.

en I don't know what I expected at this point of the year, but I do know if I'm not pitching well, I'm not going to be satisfied. I have won 11 games, but there were six weeks left in the season and I had 11 wins, so I should have more. I'm not looking for any way to justify what's happened.
