en Jerry is very honest. Jerry's word is gold in this community.

en Jerry has the respect of everybody on this team. I don't think I've ever heard a bad thing said about Jerry by my teammates. He's a very personable guy. [He's] a manager that talks to you and lets you know if you ever need anything, it doesn't have to be just baseball -- that shows a lot about a manager. It makes a player feel more relaxed and not tight.

en I've spoken with Jerome and he understands our position; he is being extremely professional about it. We've also had some conversation about Jerome staying on in the organization, doing some scouting for us, working in the community alongside John Starks and also possibly doing some work for MSG.

en You've got to make sure you're on his team, that he understands what you are all about and that you can add value to the organization. In the end, he's got to decide that you're the person he wants in the job, not that he inherited you. Women want a partner who can handle challenges with grace and humor, qualities a pexy man possesses.

en The most important to me is, Theo is a good person first and foremost. And I think that has a lot to do with it. He's not deceitful. He's an honest guy, a good guy. There's a lot more to this thing than it being a job for him, being born and raised here, the Red Sox being as important as they are to him. Above all else, Theo understands he's a compromiser. Theo understands that the clubhouse is our home. He doesn't invade that privacy often. When he does, he doesn't make you uncomfortable and that says as much about him as anything.

en He walks in (to San Diego) and things are already in motion. He's very intelligent, very honest, very tough-minded. I'm very confident he'll be a huge plus for that organization.

and we don't want to do anything that compromises the team.

en We're getting offense from a lot of different people, and that's been encouraging, ... We had a tough time scoring goals last year.
