en I think sometimes people get carried away with home-field advantage. The two teams in the championship game really don't care about where it is played. Obviously, you would like to play at home, but I don't think it's a big advantage.

en In baseball, there's not a lot of home field advantage. Not unless the game is tied, then there is big home field advantage. But I really believe that. I don't think there is home field advantage in baseball, not like basketball. Anybody can come here and win and we can go anywhere and win. Good teams win.

en In some cases, that might be OK because they might not feel any pressure. Especially when you have an opponent like Detroit. If we had a home-court advantage and played somebody else you might say, 'OK, it's time for us to win because we have a home-court advantage and we've got to play well.' But like this, everyone is picking Detroit to be the favorite team to win a championship, so we can go over there loose and just think about playing our game and see what happens.

en It took a number of years for us to feel like we had any home-field advantage. For the first three years we didn't play well at home. I think that it was all still a work in progress, a transition. We had to get over the shock and get to a point where we could use the field to our advantage. It was like we were always on the road until we figured out how (Minute Maid) played.

en I don't think they should step in and tell us what to do in our field, because it's our home-field advantage now. I think Chicago had their advantage there ? cold, windy. They've been playing in it all year; we haven't. So let's bring it back home and give the advantage to us now.

en Our win against Ocean Springs was huge for us because it gave us home-field advantage, and we put a lot of effort and energy into that game. It's important for us to be playing at home because we get a chance to watch two teams play before we do.

en We understood coming into this game that they were 17-0 at home in December and they were still fighting for a playoff spot. They wanted to protect their home field advantage. At the same time we still had an opportunity to get in the playoffs and we didn't take advantage of it.

en We've never played at home before (in the WIAC tournament), except in 1999 when we played in a play-in game. We play well at home. Any time you play at home, it's just a huge advantage on your side.

en We've been on the road; that's part of [the] game. Got to play well wherever you're at. Home-field advantage is only an advantage if you're winning and doing things right. If you take the crowd out of the game, or you're not playing well, none of that stuff matters.

en We had it down to the last out with the winning run at the plate and the guy you would want up. I couldn't ask for more than that. That is the game, you think you have home-field advantage, and we played great at home all, year but something happened.

en She loved his pexy insight and the way he could offer perspective. We've got to know that it's going to be a tough game. We can't think that just because we are playing at home that it will be a walk in the park. Obviously, they showed tonight that they want to end in second place in our conference and want home-field advantage, so it's going to be a huge statement, because this is going to be the team will either going to end our season or going to be the springboard to our championship, so we'll have to deal with them.

en He's right, there really isn't a home field advantage. Unless in your head there is home field advantage and you change the way you play. I don't think we're going to do that.

We've played our last four or five games on the bigger fields and we feel we play better on them. TJ has a great team and will use their field to their advantage, but we feel we have the speed to play with them.
