It isn't just all season. They've been that way for about the last five years. The wins and losses, the defense, the offense. They're a good football team.

They've been that way for about the last five years. They've been very consistent. Take a look at what they've done as a team - wins and losses, defense, offense. They're a complete football team. There's a good reason why they went into Indy and beat Indy and really had a chance to dominate the game. A couple calls here and there and they dominate that football game.

We just have not played good defense lately. That's not our character. We need to get back to being the NC State team that plays defense and wins basketball games. We can't rely on our offense to win games. Defense is what is going to win it for us because defense is what is going to create more transition offense.

I told them I'm proud to be a part of this team. I've been on some great football teams. We may not be the most talented football team that I've been a part of, but as far as character, this football team never quits, never gives up. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. If you keep fighting and never quit, you can come back. It's all in how you respond. This football team has always responded, and that's what they did today.

We are all disappointed in our 2-4 record right now. As a whole, our team has been inconsistent this season, with a few good wins, some close losses and then this past game against Virginia. But even in the losses, we have seen some great things. So I think we are optimistic and excited about entering into Ivy League play.

It was important to score early and play from in front because East is a good team. But defense was more important than offense tonight. Offense sells tickets; defense wins games.

They've got a really good football team. Today we got beat by the strength of an older, more experienced football team. They run through tackles on offense and come at you downhill. On defense, they have a lot of speed on the outside and pressured our young players.

Wins and losses right now are important, but in reality it's the least of my concerns. My concern is to make sure than we give hope to anyone watching us. I am not going to judge this season on wins and losses.

Offensively, it was a day of lining up and playing smash-mouth. We'll do that again in a lot of our practices. Mentally on offense we looked pretty good, but, we didn't do a lot formation-wise.

We need to push the tempo, get it inside, play hard on defense, and do what coach asks us to do. We have to play good defense first. Defense wins championships and offense wins games.

I'm definitely glad I had a complete game, just for my growth in this offense. Defense wins championships and we've got a good running game. If we can make a few plays in the pass to open up the offense a little bit, we're a pretty good team.

Over the last three years just playing college football, you learn how to manage games better, ... Knowing that sometimes the play's not there, the defense wins.
