en We did a nice job on the mound against a deep lineup.

en It was a day where we really came out and battled from the pitching staff all the way down through the lineup. Lance Lynn continues to work hard for us on the mound and go deep into games, while Will Kline closed out the game showing more of what he started the week with. Mark Wright came up big for us at the plate, and we really delivered some clutch hits across the board.

en It's nice when he's on the mound. It was another strong game for him. When he's on the mound it makes our club really sound.

en I don't think we are as deep as last year, especially on the mound. But we are deeper swinging the bat. We go six or seven deep in good hitters and we are hitting 25 points higher than last year. We also have a lot more speed than last year.

en We probably have our best defensive lineup when Charlie is on the mound.

en Ward wrestled well. He made a couple mistakes early. It is a nice win for him. He has been in and out of the lineup. We juggle the lineup around.

en Whoever is performing and getting it done will be in the starting lineup, and those who are not in the starting lineup will be ready to pick it up when someone is not getting it done. I think we are as deep as we have ever been in every position.

en Everybody knows this lineup is good. When you're on the mound, you know that this team is going to score some runs.

en I guess I can see that a little bit. But I feel like when I take the mound, I take the mound with confidence. I'll throw it up and in on you. I don't care if you're [ticked] or not. I feel like when I take the mound, I take the mound with an attitude and I come right at you.

en I definitely feel more comfortable when I know what to expect and I know what the program is. I'm very good with routines. That's not to say I can't make an adjustment if you move me in the lineup, but in general I know I'm going to bat third or fourth or fifth in the lineup, and it's nice to know what your role is.

en That's nice to see from him. He didn't play last year and had a real good summer season. We're happy he's here. He's added a lot to our team. It's nice to have him on the mound for us in those kind of situations.

en We've always said that's probably the widest mound in the league ? and maybe all of baseball. I really think the mound is too wide. That ball by Heintz was hit hard and then it hit the side of the mound. But that's not what lost us the game.

en The lineup backed up the mound after Kris came on in relief. (Lake Hamilton) just got off to too big of a head start.

en There's been a lot of nice colts like my own that show promise and are stepping up. It's time to get into the deep end of the pool, and I think Saturday it gets pretty deep.
