Bart has been a little stiff the last couple of days. It started to knot up in the sixth and I said enough is enough. He's a little tight right now, but we don't think it will affect his next start.

It felt good yesterday. Toward the end it started to get a little tight on him in the second practice. It's the same as it was the day before. We got to go back to the drawing board here, see how he does today, and then within the next couple days we will see how he's feeling.

Things definitely started to unravel in the sixth inning. We made a couple of mental mistakes on a couple of plays, but they played hard and you can't fault anyone.

Any time you lose a guy that's in the Cy Young running and probably should win it, it's going to affect a ball club, ... Our rotation has been outstanding all season long, and it hasn't just been a couple guys, it's been one through five who's been pitching well. It's just up to us now to continue what we did all season long and pick up Bart.

I'm stiff right now. The doctor said I'm going to feel the effects for a couple of days. ... It's just more of a muscle ache and having a really, really sore neck.

I think we were all pressing a little bit in the first game out the first couple of innings. I tried to get us started with that double, and everybody started picking it up after that. We were all a little tight.

I worked him seven-eighths (of a mile) on the 24th and had him shod five or six days ago, and we may have got a nail or two in a little tight. He got a little tender in his feet. For a couple of days I thought maybe he was getting sick because he wasn't himself on the track and he didn't eat up. He's getting better each day, but he's got to do some major improvement for me to run him. But if I do run him, he'll run big.

I'm sure that in a couple of days, I won't even know it's on there. It shouldn't affect the way I play.

I felt a knot in it. I felt like I was either getting ready to pull it or pulled it a little. If I hadn't pulled it yet, I didn't want to chance possibly pulling it. It was just a knot at the time ? or it just felt like a knot and some tightness. So I went in the back, checked it out and made sure.

(Zambrano) struggled early. He made a couple young mistakes. I guess that comes with young players. He started working his breaking ball and had them off-balance. In the sixth and seventh, he probably had his best stuff. Fortunately, we got a couple runs in the top of the seventh.

He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin. I thought Roy started tiring in the sixth, ... but he did the job he had to do. And the bullpen was perfect. Roy has had a couple of rough outings lately, but he was back in the groove tonight.
