There is a lot of focus on that (controversial) play, but we didn't play to a high enough level to win the ball game. That's the bottom line.

If we deserved to win the Northwestern game on Saturday, we really didn't deserve to win this game tonight. We really didn't play very well. We made a couple of bad plays defensively and that really hurt us. But the bottom line is that we didn't play a good game.

If we had it to do over we would go out and play the same way and just hope the outcome was different. We just didn't have a good ball game. That's the bottom line.

Overall, we didn't play as consistently as we could have. We put together some great combinations and really moved the ball around well, [but] we didn't sustain enough of that. We have a really young team with plenty of freshmen and sophomores. This team has been really fun because they play a high level of enthusiasm and focus. They seem to want to play at their highest level every game.

You want to know something? I'm not a stat guy. I don't play the games to see how many stats people have. I play the game to win. And we didn't win today, and that's the bottom line.

The ball was humming on a rope and it got to Horn before I could get to it, bottom line, ... I didn't make a play I felt I should have made. It could be that's what influenced the decision [to bench him]. Maybe that's the case. I don't know. I thought I'd played well to that point, but obviously I hadn't. So the only way I can look at it is that I have to play better.

Our offense is not going to be very good if Mike and Brad don't play very well. Francisco had numbers, but our starters, I don't know if anybody had a decent game. ... I guess we just didn't come to play early in the game and that's my problem. We have got to be ready when the game begins. Once we got going, we played well enough. We just have to sustain a high level of play throughout the game.

When you're a championship team, you just have to play over whatever is thrown at you. The bottom line is we didn't shoot the ball well enough to win.

I think we still have a way to go. I want to get to the point where we're playing at the level we need to play at. Because very shortly it's going to come down to one game, one play and that's my focus. We need to be at the level where its one play and your season is over.

They hit the ball from top to bottom with line drive. We lost, but we didn't play that bad. It was just a case where the other team was so dominant.
