It settled everybody down. Not only did it give us a quick seven points, but now they've got a little question mark in their mind. That's what we wanted. Last time, they kind of jumped out on us and sat on that lead. They made it tough for us to get back in it.

Last time, he took the lead earlier than what I wanted. Today I was expecting to make the lead a little bit later, but he kind of got on the muscle at the three-eighths pole. But he settled a lot better today than the last time.

We needed the two points that's for sure. There is no question about it, no one is happy about blowing the lead in the third period, but we needed the points. We got the win, and everyone wishes we didn't give up the lead, but we found a way to win the game.

We wanted to come out with some quick points and get an early lead. We wanted to come out and pressure them all over the court and we were able to do that.

In the first half we built up a little of a lead, but we took some risks. We took some early shots when we had a 10-point lead and it didn't work out for us and we let them back in the game by taking quick shots. Amity came down and scored. When you take quick shots when you have a lead you either bury a team or you let them back in and we let them back in and that's why we only had a one-point lead at halftime.

Basically what we needed to make sure we did was come down and settle ourselves down on offense. When we see them running points on us we came down and tried to get those points back, and that's when you need to be patient. I think we settled ourselves down and got some better looks to fend off the little run they made.

Like he always is: Tough to hit. Myself, I was horrible today at the plate so I have to give him credit. I think with him you have to battle all day. He's the kind of guy that's going to work quick and try to get you out quick.

They have some outstanding athletes and quick athletes. They executed well. Our defense played tough most of the time, and it was a big improvement. They were still able to score 13 points. Our offense really wasn't able to sustain anything over a period of time. Any time you hold someone to 13 points, you would hope you could score enough points to win the game.

We got too far behind. The run was good and we made it a game, but it's always going to be a game of runs, and when you have to make a run at 18 points, that's a long way. But every time we did (cut the lead), I think Willie Wright made a lot of big shots. Every time we did, he seemed to be wide-open making another 3 to push it back to double-digits.

Defensively, we did a tremendous job of making them earn things ? especially for 3 1/2 quarters. Last time, they jumped on us so quick ... this time, we stayed with them. For a bunch of girls 5-8 and under, they give me everything they got.

She was kind of the question mark. She decided she missed it, so she came to me right after Christmas, and said she wanted to play.

I think he had really kind of made up his mind somewhere during the year that he was going to leave. I don't think I really recognized that.When I told him what kind of team I wanted, what kind of exciting basketball I wanted to play ... We got things done at the right time tonight. Every time we went down we kept our composure and got back into the game. We were able to get a lead and sustain it. We showed a lot of character being that those guys (Washington) already had their playoff shirts made up and wanted to wear them after the game. We didn't give them a chance to do that, now they have to do it somewhere else. We had an extra incentive to beat them and that gave us a great lift. We just did everything right tonight.

Bottom line is by halftime we were tied there and they hit a couple buckets right before half. They jumped on us in a hurry and that's the biggest concern with them. They come out and you look at what they do to teams, they have gigantic first quarters and have them in such a hole that they don't ever recover. But we did a good job of regrouping and responding. I knew if we'd get close there at the half we had a shot to stay with it. You can't give up (that many) points in the first half. That's not the kind of score we wanted.

Thirteen points is a lot to come back from, but we got their lead down to two points. That's four possessions we can't give away.
